About 4 metres a year! 
I am at about 3500 feet in the tropics so a good chunk of winter is spent in the clouds and then summer is the monsoon season, everything needs to be super rot resistant.

Absolutely. “Bag appeal” means very little to me. As I live in an illegal state, availability is the biggest issue, followed by potency. I got some really leafy bud with next to no aroma for a massive discount. I did an alcohol extract and got just as much cannabinoid as I would have for a much higher price.

Hopefully you can get some good quality outdoor with some flavor from terps in the near future, but in the meantime, exactly, the massive discount extracted herb makes economical sense.
I definitely plan on having good outdoor bud next year. I helped a friend of mine do a seed run last summer. How I got those seeds was some dude sold me some weed with bud rot, but without any discount. I was about to get pissed off until I noticed seeds. I didn’t tell him (he had been asking me if I could get seeds) and went ahead and paid for it. He thought he was ripping me off, but what he was really doing was making sure I’d never need to go to him again for weed. I turned those 10 seeds into over 1000 in about 90 days (they were Northern Lights Auto) and had at least 2 ounces of bud on top of it. The seeds notwithstanding, the flower was quite potent and I got a couple of grams of extract.
Oh, and the dude who thought he was getting over on me recently got arrested for possession of methamphetamine with intent to distribute. He’s also a convicted felon and had a couple of firearms in his truck (on top of about an ounce of meth). While I don’t think anyone should ever get busted for low-level dealing or possessing firearms, I can’t help but think his karma caught up with him.

If you have autos, you could probably do them this spring outdoors and harvest when summer begins. Photoperiods are usually better, but I’ve seen some highgrade autos.

I’m UK and our summer is like the USA winter 
I can usually do 2 autoflower runs between April and September each year. They don’t yield much but the potency is on point. My outdoors stuff is for personal. Autos have a much higher CBD content so with me having cppd they help more for my pain than my photoperiod plants do

Ruderalis from places like Siberia or Kazakhstan tends to have a higher CBD content. It also seems like it gives autoflowers a higher resistance to cold. Autos are ideal or cooler climates, like that of the UK. Also, I know at least one grower in Alaska who grows autos outdoors, something not many photos could even survive.
Last summer, I helped a friend of mine grow Northern Lights auto for seed. There were two females and two males from that run (one of those males got 7 feet tall!) and we got about 2000 seeds. Notwithstanding the fact that it was a guerrilla grow (cannabis is very illegal where I live) and it was full of seeds, the flower was quite potent. If it seems like autos are getting more and more potent every year, it’s because they are. Every year means at least one more generation of selective breeding. Autos are going to catch up with photos in terms of potency, and a lot of them have already.
Once the United States finally takes cannabis off the Schedule One list, there is going to be something of a weed renaissance. We know more than we ever have about cannabis, and DNA sequencing is going to reveal even more.

The conflict in the Bible between God and Satan something of an allegory to the ages-old debate between Legalism and Humanism. Legalism posits that humans are inherently evil and need strict rules to keep them in line. Humanism posits that humans are inherently good, and need room to grow and learn.
Read The Satanic Bible by Anton LaVey. In that book, he points out the vagaries of Christians (Legalists) and how their actions actually make them Satanists (Humanists). The Satanic Bible could be described as a self-help book, or at least that’s how I took it.
I tell Christians that if they want to call themselves Christians, there are two parts of the Bible they must read (and hopefully understand): the parts they agree with…and the rest of the goddamn thing. It’s infuriating how many “Christians” (usually the most devout and obstinate among them) do not understand the first damn thing about it. Very few understand the Bible, fewer still live by it and practically none have ever read it in its entirety.

That was about the LAST thing I was expecting from an auto, especially NL, which was bred partly to remain short and easy to hide.
No kidding. What was the run time for these autos, seedling to finish?
About 90 days. Sorry, I wasn’t taking detailed notes. They could have gone for another month, but they already had plenty of seeds and I got paranoid. I also saved a little of the pollen from the 7-footer.

I appreciate what you’ve said. I’ve never been interested in the Bible. I understand it’s an important historic document but that’s all it is to me. It was created by man for man and a divine entity had nothing to do with it. It’s disturbing that so many think it’s the word of god. I don’t even understand the word god or understand how people think that the universe was intentionally created by a supernatural entity. But hey, in my philosophy, people are entitled to believe what they want as long as they don’t harm others. Funny though, I feel like we’re having a 12th Century conversation in the 21st Century. OK, I’ll stop now, alcohol is clouding my thoughts (one beer)?

Really cool new study that came out a couple days ago using mass spectrometry to analyze the same genetics, same cut, same year. Indoor vs outdoor. Pretty clear evidence for outdoor presenting more of the useful cannabinoids like thca-c4 and c6 where as indoor has more of the degraded cannabinoids. I don’t want to hate on our friendly indoor growers but, it’s always been clear from the smoke that this was the case. Perfectly executed outdoor is untouchable.
