Uk so practically no sun at all. My indoor stuff at least finishes properly. This indoor outdoor shite needs to stop. Everyone has different outdoor environments. Yes some outdoor is better than indoor if your cali or a similar location.
Circling back to this one… I’m gonna have to agree with @iamyou_youareme, do you have a link to the study? I’m not exactly surprised by the results, but I’m curious as to the methodology. Also, those don’t look like mass spec results. Were they put into graph form somehow? What exactly is it indicating, other than outdoor being better? I’m also curious who bothered to do a study like this on such a small scale. 6 cuts of a single plant seems like the kind of study I might do at home, if I could get access to mass spectrometry. Why didn’t they use multiple strains, at least? Did they change growing conditions indoors, or just use the growing setup of a single commercial grower?
Full study is dropping in a few weeks. I’ll publish the pdf here when it does!
Totally agree. I don’t think outs is something that a lot of the world has the right climate (be it ecologically or politcally ) to be able to do properly. I just hope that people’s obsession with “frosty rock hard nugs” doesn’t kill the market for top level outdoor. I think honestly, most people probably haven’t smoked top shelf outdoor. I think what could be cool is, in the future with federal legalization, a lot of the farms here in Cali will be able to start exporting and people will get to see for themselves what it’s all about. I just hope there are outdoor farms still around for everyone to get to experience when that happens. All that said, I’m not trying to hate on indoor growing at all! For breeding, bad climates etc it’s invaluable.
What I don’t understand is the UK is the world’s biggest producer of medical cannabis. Next time you toke one from a despensery the likelihood is its been grown here in the UK.
Obviously it’s gonna be all indoor unless they have found a strain that grows in the world’s shittiest weather
What are we comparing, living soil vs artificial growth medium?
How do the charts stack up if you grow artificial medium outdoors vs living soil indoors?
6 months later and we still aren’t done with this? Once again, this study is sketchy on details, doesn’t have a control group, doesn’t test more than one set of genetics and doesn’t necessarily indicate anything about the quality of the high, just the quantity of terpenes. It’s a cool data point, but still not enough to make a blanket statement. And, even if anyone could make a blanket statement rather than inevitably just focusing on comparisons between organic outdoors and indoor hydro, 98% of the world still can’t grow outdoors… either because of climate or the threat of prison.
I just don’t see the point of this thread unless something more conclusive than this comes out. Fine, growing in California is paradise, good for you guys. Do you want a cookie, or what? I’m still more likely to get fentanyl-laced weed than quality organic outdoor weed, other than what I grow myself, so it’s still kinda irrelevant to me.
would you mind closing this thread @moderators
