@Sunvalley, can you recommend a source for that shade screen? I want to find some, as cheap as I can but still pretty good quality. I want to buy a lot of it eventually.

I’d use it on a hoop house for most of the season, but I have a couple of places I want to hang it from posts for smaller spots. The sun is brutal here in early summer. I’m at 6,400 ft. elev.(1951m) and the air is clean and clear. It’s very intense in June.

An added benefit for me is protection from summer hail storms. We get them often and sometimes very destructive. 3 years ago there was a bad one and the whole town had to replace their roofs. peace

I think I’ll make some bubble hash one of these days too as I’m getting overstocked (good problem to have right) and I think I have time to spare ha ha ha

I use a locally manufactured brand … cant remember the name… might be Alnet … pretty sure you’ll be able to find a good deal out your way… always better to buy from the manufacturer if possible

LMAO… :joy:… I was just thinking as I was reading how I need to buy some gear to make it. It’ll be new to me, but I have an excess, too. I’ve been saving it just for this. Haven’t gotten that far yet.

Hey @Gramps. I finally got a hold on some Vanilla Frosting seeds. I have 11 ready for summer.

In which case, hand-stirring gently with less ice would produce even better results.

As much as I like the free labor of the washer, it is really too rough. IMO they don’t need to oscillate & should be mod’ed to only spin one direction at about 1/2 the speed. Changing the wheel/pulley size might work for that.

It’s the water friction detaching the trichomes, not the ice smacking into the material-- that bruises & breaks them.

The gentlest batch I ever made came out like pink wax, tasted like berry pancake syrup or raspberry gelato, and I’ve never been the same since. Or made anything that good either. :strawberry:

Wish i had the patience to hand stir hehe… will just take too long with a few kilos

Hand stirred is great but at one point I had to resort to buying a new clothing wash machine ,made some adjustments and used it to run huge loads. Still have it but it’s used for actual clothing now lol.

I do get it… and my harvests are smaller than either of you 2 BigAg  farmers.

Which is why I wonder if a jumbo hash machine can be made viable. A 2000gal horizontal rotating drum with metal sieves, water chiller & about 100LB capacity. Like doing laundry.

Of course :cn: will still make anything you pay them to; No doubt the indoor growers can look to that. Just imagine if that phenomena never happened… lights would be the price of new cars. :astonished: :bulb:

:older_man: wild!

Frenchie has a machine that sounds like what you are describing, but never seen it for sale though. Shouldn’t be very hard to manufacture as its just a drum, motor, mixer and tap / valve.

I SAW that! & I thought 'damn. he’s 100 miles from silicon valley & that’s all they could come up with?! :smiling_imp:

His wasn’t a big improvement(IMO)… just capacity increase & speed control. I’m thinkin … well maybe I’m not. but it should at least have a green LCD control panel!

I vaguely recall him saying something about keeping it simple and not over engineering. Something along the lines of it being a basic process and not needing a fancy machine. The person in the video Sun posted is his student or appy if I’m not mistaken so a similar technique.
