Switching light schedule

I’m new to this platform but have been enjoying the fruits of my own labor for some time now. Almost 10 yrs. I’d like some advice
I have plants ready for flower and the are running 5 am to 9pm. How do I change my light schedule to have the 12/12 start at night. 6pm lights on to 6am lights out.
I like this for two reasons. It avoids the daytime heat and it gives me a chance to see em lit up in the morning before work to water.

Should I light dep them for a couple days then start the new schedule or should I do an hour a two change a day until I achieve the right schedule. All without affecting my flower cycle. Thanks in advance.

@willie sent me. I’m a big fan of his. I’ve ran a couple of his strains. The Hill’s cross last outdoor and one of my last indoor runs a couple years back scored me a keeper orange pheno. I’ll have pics to show the beauty.

Here’s a room I built using wood off jobs. I have some waterproof wall liner that I still need to attach. But time has run out and mama wants these out of the house cause they stiiiink!!
I build all my own lights. Jman carpenter and almost Jman electrician

Just change the timer to 12/12 with the on time at 6PM and you will be fine.

Welcome to OG @TerpyTyrone :slightly_smiling_face:

I’d recommend setting lights to 24 hours for a week than down to 18/6 veg with lights out during daylight hours until you’re ready to flower.

Would also recommend you water when the lights are starting to turn on rather than off.

Space looks great :+1: I need to expand my indoor.

:rofl::rofl:
Maybe I should start growing in my shed, lol.

You don’t think it might stress them?
Like workin days your whole life then you start the midnight shift :joy:

Unless you are switching your light schedule constantly it should be fine with a one time switch.

IT sounds like your lights are shutting off at 9pm. When the light goes off, switch your timer (extra dark period won’t matter), I run 8pm to 8am or 9pm to 9am, but we all have different schedules, maybe 6pm works for you and your setup and or variables. You need an UNDER Construction sign… Keep up the Green work. :metal:

I appreciate the sound advice.

Thanks to everyone for the kind words. I’m a slow painter, an ok carpenter, and a shitty electrician if ya ask my wife. I do what I can with a new to me home and 2 youngins.

Solid genetics do go a long way. Anybody ever try cropking out of Canada? That was my first two grows. Maybe it was me but they didn’t around me

Don’t get me started on Crop King

I recommend you avoid them, there’s much better choices out there, e.g. Great Lakes Genetics for one.

Welcom @TerpyTyrone
Spend some time hanging out around OG and you’ll get your hands on much better genetics than Crop King!

To be honest though, I started with CK and ILGM seeds my first couple grows, many years ago. And some were not bad at all.

Then I stared buying beans from Mr Nice. Big improvement.

Then I found this place!

Oh, and regarding the lights. Just switch them. No need to ease the plants into the new schedule slowly. One day of weird lights wont affect them at all

I’m with the most of us. Just flip em. :+1:t4:

Sorry OTUG! :stuck_out_tongue_winking_eye:

consider this for flower light cycle __ 13hrs dark and 11hrs light - better that 12/12 + save on electricity - if you use this plants seem to harvest faster by 1 week or so !!!

Hey man not to sound like a complete a-hole but you say you’ve been growing 10 years but are wondering how to flip plants into flower? Hmmm something doesn’t add up here but regardless just change the light cycle man simple as that. Plants don’t need a transition period to go from veg to flower

I had the same doubts & hours issue on my first grow. I just waited and flipped them at my desired timings. She grew fine.

Its the light leaks and irregular light changes (like frequent power cuts) in between that you gotta avoid.

I usually just run them non stop for 24 hours the just stop at the new cycle. Give them a few days to adjust and they’ll be fine. I’m doing it now as well.

I havent heard this before. I may try it… Thanks.
It’s my first time running in soil as well. I’ve always been a Coco in fabric bags guy. But I’m over the watering , everyday.
I still have gh 3part to use. I’m gonna try and add some once I get my Hannah ph pen back and running. The probe shut the bed
