The bulbs I have in my light are the high output 54 watt ,not sure about the t5 led replacement bulbs as I’ve had no experience with them . My 54 watt normal bulbs put out some serious veg power and the plants love it .
i cant find nowhere to buy that old t5s , a guy in a shop said , that they dont make them anymore in uk , all the bulbs now are coming in led t5s
Amazon or eBay still show them available.
Are you sure you mean T5? The “old” ones for me were T8 I think. I just found an Osram Fluora in the basement half an hour ago. Didn’t know I still had it.
its t5 leds not simple t5 , so i dont know a difference between them :?
Just wondering if someone has used the led florescent bulbs to grow ? I guess if you get the right bulbs it should be no different than a led fixture ,we’re you just planning to veg with the light or flower as well ?
If you could find 3500k and 6500k in led high output I’d be interested to know the results using them over the standard t5 bulb
only going to ise it in veg , flower will be under hps. i need to cover 3sq meters with t5s so its better not to experiment
WOW those LED inserts are crazy expensive!!
I once used the T5’s from the grow shop, they had a red or blue color to them.
However the life span on them was very erratic as I always date a stick as I install new tube when one goes dark.
Honestly, I went to industrial light company, that would sell to the public, and found a box of 25 tubes, Plusrite FL54T5/865/HO shipped to me, for $75.00 or so.
We also raise sunflower sprouts, and I have single tubes over my trays, there are 3 separate T5 singles mounted under the shelf, and when I replaced a blue tube with one of these, ALL of the emerging sunflowers turned and leaned over for that light.
In my hobby tent, the kids went mad for them! Bushing up far far better then the useless Blue/Red T5’s I was using.
I loved them so much I bought a box of 25- 2 footers in the same out put.
I’ve been using these boxes for over 5 years now, in a perpetual set up.
Good luck!
