yeah anyways doesn’t truly matter though, just was scratching my head is all
Opps I keep calling these things the wrong names… I noticed that they were coming out at 1190mm as opposed to the 1120 mm EB2s I am running so I made the switch to thrive 3000k at 1120mm, as I don’t currently need 20 strips.
And apparently I do actually have the 4000k ones, I checked the link in my invoice and it was the same as the link I ordered and it was the 4000k as linked when I ordered from in the DIY thread
Actually, you are right after double-checking I do have 3500k lights currently stilll needing to catch up on 7 months of lost sleep. I apologize, I need to slow my roll
TerpShip Updates:
Well I had some stark realizations lastnight; one of my plants (Training Day) is not feeding or drinking, and 1 of 2 pot of golds seems to have a developmental flaw in all of it’s budsites (Pot of Gold). Got up early and chopped these two plants.
Training Day was hung whole and will be dried and will be cured.
Pot of Gold #1 was wet trimmed to remove a bruised and composting preflower on every node in the plant
No signs of this on her sister or any other plant except for a loose lower or two on my Sour Diesel which was promptly removed and given the same treatment - I literally tore apart every bud on the plant, removed 2 small browning preflowers and set them on mesh drying screens - they will be under vacuum and in the freezer tomorrow… Not my preferred way to deal with my flower but I will happily turn this mishap into live rosin as it has a really nice profile, frosty and dense but the yield is very light I am only expecting an ounce dried from the pot of gold.
Cali Kush also looks very close, pistils are receding still no sign of amber in the trichomes but growth has slowed, density is unlike anything we have grown in the space, frosty a clear winner in this 9, super thankful I have 2 rooted clones of her play with. I may take her soon, can’t wait to get her in the press
Other than that cloned Cali Kush’s sister in the vertical out of sympathy, she is not particularly happy in the vertical, thinking about culling some plants to keep my plant count reasonable heading into some auto projects I have coming up as well as my usual 9 flowering at any time. While doing so I noticed several plants showing sex under 18/6 period in the vertical. This is interesting as the older seedlings(3-month-old seedlings) are not Ethierway they are showing me that they are ready for the big show and I couldn’t be happier!
Anyway, happy new year friends, I know 2020 was a tough one for many of us but I hope that we shall not repeat but merely continue to change, as we should, only for the better. All the best to you and yours in 2021, we all deserve it!
TerpShip Updates: The Chop Fest continues…
3 more down today; Took Cali Kush, Lemon Sour Diesel and 1 of 2 of my Dosido casue I was rough with her fumbling around in the dark this morning All good, I really need to move the last few lasses out and get on some updates to the space.
Pot O Gold has now been hanging for nearly a week, I reduced here and got her under vacuum at room temp, sitting at about 70% RH atm.
Not the best pics but here is Cali Kush with some charcoal on her sugar leaves - had to change a filter mid flower. Expecting between 2-3ozs dry from her, super dense, frosty and early to finish. She has a very sweet kushy vibe to her - more candy than kush/gas. As the smell develops in your nose you start to get lighter sandalwood and earthy tones. Overall very sweet, with a touch of gas.
Lemon Sour Diesel. Very bright floral/citrus notes almost perfume-like. None of the expected fuel/diesel smell from her. Decent yielder, dense nugs, I would be shocked if I ended up with less than 2 ozs dried from her.
Dosi do 33. Love this plant, was trooper, perfect structure, dense thoroughly frosted nugs - our frost winner for this run. This pheno expressed an interesting profile nearly like someone made a pine-scented cleaning product with diesel; diesel-sol?! Tough to describe, definitely some of that typical rubber/fuel that I have had with Dosi in the past but more pine backing it. She will also hover around 2ozs dry, very dense sugary little rocks, going to get an army of cuts going from her clones. Her sister had much less of the traditional Dosi Gas vibe a more citrus and kush type profile.
Other than that assembling some components for finalizing my hatch to the space that needs to be in place before the pollen starts to fly with the auto projects. I have received some additional strips, a driver and some replacement strips for my array to hopefully allow us to run the lights further away from the plants next round.
I also noticed through reviewing my calendar that I had missed 2 very key feedings with all of these guys when I was in the height work-induced madness which combined with lower than w/sq ft running through the lights (as I under built my light a bit for my needs) had some pronounced impact on yields. So for now the plan is to get these gals out and hung so I can add some more juice to the lights, enclose the hatch with filtration and booster fan and pop some auto beans in the new breeders finally
Thanks for stopping in friends!
TerpShip Updates: The Chop Fest continues…
Another 4 down today; Dosido 33 (B), Pot O Gold (B), LSD (A) and LSD (B). They will hang anywhere from 5-7 days in insitu starring down their fate at the pressing station.
Everyone else except CaliKush is fully binned, under vacuum, and in cure mode via rigid Food Saver containers and micro-hygrometers onboard reading 70-65% across many bins.
It has been a busy few days around the Terpship. As I have a fully experimental pollen mitigation system attached to my breeding tents in my lung room it was time to take appropriate measures with the Terpship’s hatch before I start chucking pollen. The original hatch/door had huge gaps, didn’t close well but worked, sort of. It was waaay before our time here and time for it to go lol.
Notice the 2-inch gap along the hinge side, I thought it was sloppy hinges but after having no luck with several adjustments I realized that the door jam for the hatch was never square, plumb, true or consistent in any way other than poorly executed, so I had to get to it or face the seed-filled consequences.
I ended up back framing the opening and hastily crafting a solution. I used 1/2" birch ply, 1x4" spruce, and an exterior skin of 1/4’ Birch ply. There are three 4" holes in the face of the door, these ports butt up to a sealed box containing two layers of hydrostatic pollen prefilter, a 10X20" MERV 8 filter, and an AC Infinity T7 AirTitan. I used embedded 1/4" bolts, turn knobs, and silver-tape to mount the rear panel giving me the ability to quickly swap out the filters at any time. I mounted 3 out of 4 AC Infinity controllers for the Terpship directly to the inside of the hatch. It’s mostly hideous but the combination of “premium rubber” weather stripping and temporary silver-tape, she’s light and other than through the filter she’s airtight. When I don’t have plants hanging in the space I will fill and caulk any remaining gaps permanently, and remount the trim.
For those of you with a keen eye, yes that is my v1 Gen2 Bridgelux Array out of the space and on the floor in the last shot. Hopefully, over the next few days, I will be retrofitting the array with 10 new strips and 340w of more power. This will end up being more in line with what was discussed when I first built the array but for whatever reason, I decided to not include 8 additional strips and a fourth 240 XLG driver. Hoping that with a total of 34 strips and roughly 1060w of power that I can light the space and run the lights high enough not to army crawl through the space for the first few weeks of flower.
I took 9 plants out of the rack and moved them into the tent while I do upgrades. 3 Blueberry Bubblegum #2 from G13 Labs, 3 Glookies from Barney’s, 1 Black Domina x Afgan from Wold of Seeds, and 2 clones from the last run: Dosido 33 (1) the XXX Gasssy Pheno and Cali Kush.
This also meant taking 18 clones in case of something interesting pops up including the 2 BDxAKs I left behind in the rack for the time being, Once their clones root I will likely throw them in the flower chamber in their 1 gal fabrics and see how they roll.
I am never buying small Rockwool for cloning ever again, I’m converted to Ez Plugs for life! I went from 60-80% viable clones to 100% overnight without changing anything but my substrate- never again Rockwool. Below are fully rooted clones that I cut from tortured plant less than a week ago up potted to soil today.
Sorry for the long long one but many changes afoot this week.
Thanks for stopping in and following along as usual friends. More scent, smoke, and yield notes to come from the latest run yet, stay tuned !!!
EZ plugs are a new one on me, where did you score them?
Cheers
G
My local hydro-mart starting carrying them, noticed some funny quotes on the whiteboard like “now I have too many”, “hitting 100% again!” so I asked what is this you guys are all loving. The long-time sage of the store pulled out his phone and asked " I haven’t shown you these yet?!?"
He proceeded to show pictures of cuttings of his plants, at the same time in Rockwool as he had done for 30+ years and then the Easy Plugs that he just tried for the first time. The differences were huge; faster growth, less stress and fully rooted in less time in the plugs. They are crazy. It has allowed me to take smaller/less viable cuts that likely wouldn’t make it in Rockwool and prosper. As I said I won’t be going back to Rockwool for cloning purposes.
Great thread man, I enjoyed reading every bit. So much knowledge and good practices and inspiring DIY. I’ll try to follow along from now on!
Glad to have you along @Orloff, stop by anytime
TerpShip Updates
I was let out of trim jail on good behavior after only a few hours of intensive trim…
Yield is as expected, gauging by the amount in the bins I would guess 18-20ozs which is nothing to complain about however I know I can do much better with 9 plants. Most are still in between 70-64% RH, under vacuum in rigid food savers for now I will continue to burp daily and get things down to a dry humidity before I do any final weigh-ins. I will be a touch more aggressive with feeding likely 4-6% recommended bioCanna schedule feed on top of my soil amendments via foliar this round as well as an additional 10-12 W per sq/ft in the flower chamber from this beasty below.
V2 of my Bridgelux array (reduced the footprint 6", added 10 Gen 3 strips 3000K strips and another 320 W Meanwell driver) has been tested and hung, the stress test will begin tmr to see if my electrics in the house can handle all that I am about to throw at it. She is drawing 1080 W at the wall total now and still covering a 4X8’ area so to hoping for good things but as you can see there is room on the array for more strips and who knows might go that way down the road. Tmr I will crank everything to 11 and hope for the breaker can hold: 2 breeding tents @ ~170 w each plus 7w for their shared T4 and 2x 200mm Noctua fans, 4x4 veg tent with T4, ts3000 (480w draw), dehumidifier, seed fridge, 1200w vertical farm, 1200w rosin press 3 additional t4s, a t8, a t7 Airtitan, heat mats, a few more 5w fans (8) a few flow pumps (3), and the new array @1084w all on a 15 amp breaker…
Seedlings and clones in the veg tent did not show any transplant shock which is typical since moving to sprinkling high K biochar (Growtek Back Pear) directly onto my roots as I up pot, the high K seems to nip any drooping/slowing down when up potted, I will continue to run test but for a sample have been pretty happy thus far. That being said it is a big jump from the rack (29C 70RH pretty consistent 24/7 thus heat mats and circulation fans) to the veg tent where although it is insulated is surrounded by 3 exterior walls, some wood and some insulation, and on concrete over earth floors. Flower chamber/veg tent temps can dip down to 16C overnight when outside temperatures hover around 6-8C as they have for most of this cycle.
Things are otherwise well, happy to be over the hump with retrofits and builds, looking forward to getting back to extracting all these lovely specimens and sharing all the lessons learned, getting these ladies into the flower chamber, and getting the auto breeding project started!!
Thanks again for stopping in friends
Congrats on a great harvest, at least you completed your trimming sentence and can relax now. I see you got those fancy Japanese trimming scissors, I am looking into trying a pair after good old Fiskars gave me years of service.
P.S. you guys over the pond are so lucky being able to purchase AC Infinity. It’s perhaps the one piece of equipment that I envy you for. Getting a similar level of performance and control costs so much in Europe .
Anyway, looking forward to your next projects. Up up and beyond !
TerpShip Updates F. Day 2
The ladies have had a nice vacation in the tent bulking up, getting used to and a bit weird within the unbaked soil but last night their 18 hours of joy a day was cut short to 12 hours. This short cycle allowed the girls to have a 6 hour rest and get onto an opposing cycle through the night.
So I moved the 9 out into the flower chamber and gave 3 Blueberry Gum #2s a fairly aggressive trim to open them up a bit. I will do the same with the rest over the next few days.
And some you might be thinking damn the spectrum on your new array is so photogenic when in fact the combination of 3500k EB2s and 3000k EB3s has brought it closer to an HPS color so I went and bought some PPE, and taking the pictures through the new glasses just for giggles.
Other than that not much to report, I will keep you all posted though!
Thanks again for stopping in friends!
TerpShip Updates F. Day 6
The TerpShip is basically on autopilot now, I have moved the cycle to run through the night which I am still seeing some lower than ideal night temps (during the day temps) however this is the coldest time of the year and comparing the data from the last cycle, if the current outside temps were present, my temp swings would have been much more extreme, so this was the right move to make. From lights out to lights on I am seeing a 5 degree C swing in the chamber whereas during the same period outside temps and swinging 10+ degrees which affects my lung room temps (old house, lab is in the not so well insulated basement) is currently seeing swings of 6-8 degrees.
I did do a decent de foil on all except one Glookies, her structure was so nice that I want to see what she wants to do. I will keep working them slowly each day now for the next week or so the thin them further.
This has been a nice change actually, this has resulted in very little time needed in the flower chamber daily and even if I wanted to hang out with them during the day I can’t which is mixed blessings as I do enjoy it but this has freed up time to get other things done during daylight hours. Like finally post an extraction thread! Overall all is well I hope that your gardens too are going well, Thanks again for stopping in friends!
LOL
I had to pause and process what I was seeing in the 1st pic for a couple sec before I realized the dangley bits were your adjustment pots! Good one!
Your keeping an 'ol stoner on his toes LOL.
Cheers

TerpShip Updates: Harvest Notes
Well friends, I spent the last couple of days working through my harvest. Everything is in the extraction window so I have been putting in work on the press. I was most of the way through today’s run when I realized that I hadn’t tallied the total yield, smoke notes or shared any pics of cured flower destined for the press.
For my records harvests worked out to be:
- Dosido 33 (1) = 2.6 oz
- Dosido 33 (2) = 3.9 oz
- Lemon Sour Diesel = 2.4 oz
- L.S.D (1) = 2.3 oz
- L.S.D (2) = 2.2 oz
- Cali Kush = 3.1 oz
- Pot O Gold (1) = 1.9 oz
- Pot O Gold (2) = 2.1 oz
- Training Day = 2.8 oz
Total yield 20.7oz or 587.7g
Considering some oversights on my behalf I am pretty happy. Not all the plants produced interesting profiles but most were very dense, frost laden and good for extraction. I have already run more than 12 ozs through the press and should be narrowing in on 3 oz of Fresh Rosin under vacuum in the fridge!
So here are some pretty crap smartphone pics of random buds from the run as I run the best first, wasn’t the star buds by any stretch but in case I run into something similar down the road here are some mugshots. Forgive my rough trim, since I pretty much extract everything, they get very quick dry trim if at all
L.S.D (1)
Is by far the most unique smelling phenos I have been exposed to recently. Pheno 1 has very complex floral, sweet and citrus scents blended with a sweet rubber smell reminiscent of candy scented erasers. The experience is very clean, mellow and very functional. Extraction wise the entire profile is present in the flower rosin, yields were 17-19% without pushing.
L.S.D (2)
Again was blown away by the polar opposites of the 2 phenos. This LSD is straight black pepper as if someone was grinding it on your face upon opening a container of this flower. The experience again was very functional, pleasant definitely day time medicine for me. Extraction wise very light clear rosin, full peppery profile punches through. Yields again were nothing to write home about at 16-19% but the profile is very unique and will be cherished.
Cali Kush
Was not only the yield champ in terms of flower but has high amounts of extractable resin caked all over it. Super dense buds, the bud shown is 9.5g and only 4"ish long and a few fingers thick. Profile wise it is very strange earthy, hops, barely smells like cannabis more sage/earthy. Interesting plant retained two sister cuts of this plant, I have a cut running again this cycle currently, and the sister cut running at my dad’s place. Rosin yields were low to mid-20s without pushing the material at all, very light/clear rosin with a touch of an orange hue.
Lemon Sour Diesel
Excellent plant, even when tortured as they all were the last run. Super bright nose, very lemon no diesel. Very dense heavy nugs, good trichome production. Extraction wise a very yellow/light rosin with average yields (21-22%), super-bright profile extends straight through to the rosin. Experience wise: TBD
Dosido 33 (1)
The gas queen. I think I described her earlier as diesel-sol. Through the cure the pine scent was overtaken by the gas and sweet almost fruit notes. LOVE this flower. Found some pretty mature seeds in her though and the density and lack of seeds elsewhere in the crop lead me to believe she threw a banana pretty early and low in the canopy. I have her clone running now, I will have to be super vigilant. Extraction wise super happy with her, the yields were good (22-24%), the profile is very clear and strong, fairly light rosin overall good extraction specimen. Experience wise I haven’t spent to much time with her yet, but will keep you posted.
Beyond this there are 2 Pots o Golds, neither produced appealing profiles, very muted, mostly grass/hay however, POG (2) was very resinous and was a very close second for extraction yield.
I also was not happy with the profile of the training day. The yield was interesting but the nose resembles kleenex or toilet paper (not that funky smell but the papery sorta detergent smell?!) Anyways, a good grower might extract well but the profile falls flat on its face.
Edit: Thanks for stopping in!!
Pressing the flower into rosin? Or making hash first? Let’s see some yummy oress shots.
You got it @ReikoX , I got the flower down to between 64-67% faster than I thought I would be able to and preserve terps so straight into the press it went. Having it be so fresh has really kept the rosins really light and clear, very potent and smells devine. I set up a lil Solventless Extraction Thread so that I could talk about extraction more in-depth but here are some shots of this harvest’s rosins! I’ll be doing some full Live Rosin Tutorials (Flower to Hash to Press), Dry and Bubble Hash Runs coming up as well as more flower rosins to come. So far I have worked my way through the 2 Dosido 33s, The Lemon Sour Diesel and the 2 x L.S.Ds. All excellent rosins so far.
The 2 color winners were:
Dosisdo 33Lemon Sour Diesel
L.S.D -Clear profile winner and likely runner up for color.
Cali Kush
Yield wise Cali Kush and Pot O Gold were winners, still have lots of both of these left. so I will dial the recipe for both of these strains and see what they can really produce.
Thanks for stopping in bro!
Now that’s what I’m taking about.
I saw your solventless thread and am tracking it.
