Taste like dryer sheets

Just as the title says. After this run, my third indoors here. I have found that every strain has a common taste, that’s prominent, they taste like dryer sheets or perfume.

I can visibly see no mold under a scope.

It has happened using three different mediums.

It has happened no matter when I pull them.

It happens no matter how I dry them and cure or store them.

Is it the water? The air? Me? The 150 year old building? Anyone else out there have this happen. I’ve used many variables to figure this out.

I have used Dr zymes along the way as the other plants in the house have knats and they like to make their way to places they shouldn’t. But the only common thing among them is

A. Water
B. The apartment I’m in
C. Me.

Help as I’m kinda at the point where I’m gonna have to start paying for test to see if I’m really sucking lately.

Could it be this?

This is wierd to hear of like this, is it the same every time? Did I read that right? That would tick me off. I grew some fems continously for 2 years and they smelt of mint. Now I can’t stand that when I smell it on a plant…

Every strain past three grows. Same plant outside no problem. 🤷

I thought maybe. But then again everyone uses it so it would be widespread beyond myself.

Sounds like it’s the environment in the building or something wierd as all heck

That is what my guess is. The building just all around no good anymore.

That sucks. It sounds like it’s the building. Something is eking out of it or something, I have no idea but that would be my best guess. Especially if it’s the 3rd time. And outdoors had been different smell like you said. Same strain. Definitely put it on that building…

Good topic. I’ve been thinking about this for a while. I have never had this happen to my plants, but I have a guy who’s bud, even while having unique tastes, always has strong drier sheets taste.

I know he feeds strong, I always chalked it up to that. Like, 2:3 Ocean forwst, 1:3 worm castings, and full strength GH Flora

Yes I am. Have used several at this point. Used pre filters also to scrub air going in (not scented just dust catchers).

Dryer sheet

What are dryer sheets made of? Dryer sheets are composed of liquid softeners, lubricants and fragrances coated on a layer of fabric, which is often made of polyester or cellulose fibers. When included in a load of laundry, the dryer heat works to warm and release these ingredients onto your fabrics.

Well, it would make sense that if you use them in your laundry in the same house or room as your plants that it’s gonna affect your plants.

No washer or dryer here. And haven’t used a dryer sheet in years.

Are you growing in a no-till bed or fabric pot that got washed in a washingmachine?

Do others taste it as well?

Nope. Actually have used new pots or buckets or whatever each time. First was plastic grow bags, next was buckets from the bucket company using soil or Rockwool, and this last time was coco.

I’ve only shared it with a few. And they smoke it up. But they haven’t quite mentioned it to me. Might be because I’m giving them it for free.

What medium do you grow in?

That’s where I was going…
I used a furnace filter and a sealed box as my filter. Keeps the pollen out and has great surface area (min. back pressure)
