He was taught that JP. So I am lost to what he is asking.
Finishing ratio???
A new one on me. I switch from veg nutes to flower nutes. Until a week or two from harvest. Then i use just phâed water.
Okay. Now I have a question⌠I start going in to flower nutes a week before flipping. I heard it gives them a kick start at change so I start adding about 1/3 dose of flower nutrients then and by two weeks after flip Iâm running full flower nutrients and start backing off on veg nutes.
You think I should just switch like I used to? A complete change at flip?
Just wondering. Mine have been doing fine that way but a straight change would be less to keep track ofâŚ
The reason for flower nutes is that your plants need those nutrients to produce flowers. They wonât do that until after flip. So itâs not really needed until then. They really donât need it until at least a week or so after flip in my opinion.
Not sure about the idea of giving em a kick-start, brother. Iâve always just started flower nutes when I flip em.
Friggin people. If you listen to every âgrowerâ out there youâre gonna be running in blasted circles!

If it ainât broke leave it the F alone. lol
I donât switch to Bloom until I see signs. But during the flip time, I just give them basic feeding. I use advanced nutrients, so is part a in part B connoisseur grow. I really donât do much during that time. But when I see hair itâs on. But I donât veg long.
What i do isâŚ
I start flower nutes at flip. If i feel i need a little more tip burn i will add some nitrogen.
What day are you on homie? Looks great!
I start my flower nutes at a small amount at first and as they grow I slowly up the ratio. I never stop giving them nitrogenâŚâŚâŚ.
I do see where some nutrients companies want you to give them bloom nutrients during the vegetation stage. Fox farm is one of them. I did several years ago when I flipped, I would give them bloom. If I was doing regular, I felt like it was a waste of money. Really during this time I give them fish Nutrients. Just cheap fertilizer. I guess you could call it cheap.
They do suggest that. Even the flower fuel I use. I give it to them during vegetation time. Some of you grow big fat plants. I did at one time. Small works for me. Plus I get more verity. Also if something gets to big. I can spare pulling a few. But I always remember that the next time topping is needed.
And I checked that when I read to give some just before flip. Itâs right there on the damn bottle to feed during veg.
Greedy bastards.
Thatâs what it amounts to broâŚâŚâŚ hate to say it but itâs true!
So very true.
Yup. I use fox farms exclusively. But i use at about half what they say on the bottle. Think about it. If i used what they say, i would be buying twice as much nutients as i need. Greedy is right.
I used General Hydroponics for my first run, and it seems like the general consensus is that they also tell you to use way more than you need.
Owned by Monsanto. Never woulda guessed theyâd be morally bankrupt. ![]()
Iâve used General Hydroponics threesome for years. Also add Flower Fuel in bud. Few other things like powdered kelp, Blackstrap molasses, Straight Nitro, calcium, etc
I donât either, the most I go is 75% bloom fertilizer. I still give them the other 25% veg.
