Both my ATF mothers hermied on me, the actual mother and the clone I took has bananas on it too.

Is my whole ATF seed run shot at this point?

To add to the “fuck me” vibe today my 2nd batch of ladybugs came in, different seller than the first and the majority were dead

Keep your head up bro. The only one who can ever truly defeat you, is yourself. It’s not the obstacles in life that define us, but how we overcome them.

I couldn’t see them at first. Are they helping? Can you see them eating bugs? I would start a lottery out of it . Lol the one that eats the most.

@Hemp Seems like they’re doing work, some like to laze by the lights n stuff but there’s a bunch on the plants and they seem to be hunting bottoms of leaves and stems and stuff where aphids and mites like to congregate

Also caught a bunch circling rims and hanging out at drain holes, all the spots the larvae would be coming out at

Just about to say they are running out of food. We use them 3 times a year…

Is this what everyone refers to as “dampening off”? (Second one is the same way under the seed casing) What causes it? Is it preventable?

Yup damping off

Yeah that’s dampening off. Caused by fungi in the soil. Can be mostly prevented by using a sterile media for seeds, and not letting it stay too wet. Extra perlite helps keep it nice and airy. It’s only happened to me when I’ve used recycled soil to pop seeds. Hope this helps.

Would it be a good idea to water my popped seeds with a few drops of peroxide in the water from now on then? It’s brand new Promix HP, well I’m down to bottom 1/3of the bag, but it’s not reused is my point

That sounds good. Diluted peroxide shouldn’t hurt it, and if you spray some on the soil around the seed it should help supress any fungi kickin around. If you dilute some in the water when you soak seeds, I find it helps clean the outside of the shell before planting. If you can put a small fan on low to dry the surface of the medium a bit, that might help save the others. I would toss the cups that have been dampening off too.

I do the peroxide in water with my seeds when I’m sprouting them, even the ones dampening off got it, I hadn’t thought about prepping the medium that way but I’ll probably start doing that as a precaution, there’s 11 seeds that haven’t gotten above soil in 2 days after popping and I’m fearing the worst for all of em…

I have one pink panther F4 that almost died f I’m dampening off and “recovered” from it after a peroxide watering… It’s still acting funky, is this why you say to toss them??

I hope those seeds pull through. If they all don’t make it, it could be the promix. Especially since you soaked the beans with diluted h2o2 before planting.

If you can’t get some new medium before germinating more I would recommend throwing in some extra perlite, if you have some, to the bag of promix and adding in beneficial mycos when planting the seeds. Test it first with some bagseed. If you still get dampening off with the bagseed, pick up a small bag of new medium and try with that. If that doesn’t solve the issue, environmental conditions like humidity and temp could be contributing factors. I don’t feel like that’s the case here though.

The main reason I toss the dampened off ones with the cup and soil is so it doesn’t spread to any others. I’ve never really had a plant recover from dampening off. Anytime it’s happened, that shit hit so hard and quick that the seedlings never had a chance and were knocked over dead in less than a day.

That pink panther does look a bit funky. But the new growth on top is starting to look ok. Maybe it’s growing out of it? If you clone the top and still see funky growth on the clone once it gets going, it might help identify if it’s some sort of systematic bacterial/fungal infection from when it almost dampened off that may be laying semi-dormant for the moment but causing the weird growth.

Sorry this reply is so long, and some of it may not make sense, lol, I’m baked right now :joy:

Hope you and the fam have a happy Sunday bro

That’s an interesting response, looks a little like a clone shaking off re-veg…
I’d be inclined to pluck out any dead or necrotic looking leaves.
It will be interesting to see how the new growth progresses.

That’s grown from seed, topped itself as a baby somehow and survived dampening with a peroxide laden feeding and I consistently take off the dead (as it wants to snap) but it’s like new growth is fine for a little then gets spotty and dies off. I do everything I can to not piss it off lol I’m real curious just to see what it does throughout it’s life cycle at this point.

Maybe it’s got bugs in the roots and needs a Mammoth root soaking, I just watered it with a bit of hydrogen peroxide to see if that helps anything. Next feeding I’ll add bacteria to the medium since I probably killed most of it. If that doesn’t help then I’ll soak with Mammoth ( I can’t remember if I did or not yet)
