Iā€™ve seen a lab that was a plant snatched too. Glad I caught her before she went back to get the last 2.

My latest weapon against the Texas Heat. I had a small 6ā€ exhaust in the gable of the shed and it had a noticeable difference. This bad boy should help. Iā€™ll let you know.

[lant where your plants get full morning sun until about 1 pm. then let trees shade out the extreme sun heat in the after noon. it will help out alot with the heat. yield will be a little less but yea you will harvest. need more bud just grow more plants. works for me.

The top dress should be a good thing.

I would try posting in a different thread, such as your grow thread. You may get answer more quickly.

Those temperatures in Tucson are shocking and ominous. Hope you and your plants can stay cool. Remember, itā€™s a dry heat.

I would send you cool vibes from Texas butā€¦

Coyote urineā€¦ The bush Growers friend. Soak a couple cotton balls in coyote pee, place it in a ziplock bag and use a stick or toothpick to keep the bag open. Ziploc is used so the rain doesnā€™t wash the pee out of the cotton. Youā€™ll have to replace it occasionally. Itā€™s the most rank nasty stuff youā€™ll ever encounter but it works for anything coyotes eat.
Used kitty litter will keep the deer away. I once read of a guy that put kitty litter in a deer Trail because it was not on his property, and he wanted to be able to hunt the trail. The deer moved their Trail 50 yards on to the guyā€™s property. Dear absolutely hate this stuff, to them it smells like a mountain lion.
Irish Spring soap cut into chunks and hung from branches will keep the deer away, but make sure the arenā€™t easily spotted from passersby because they will attract attention.
Blood meal keeps deer away, but does attract bears, coyotes, raccoons, and skunks. If you are using it to deter deer, scatter outside of your patch not inside. To a herbivore it smells like his buddies have been massacred and they steer clear of the area. Iā€™ve used it to successfully deter woodchucks and rabbits from my veggie garden.
Iā€™ve grown outdoors in the bush for 30 years now and Iā€™ve never lost a plant to an animal, with the exception of a Seedling now and again that was Stepped On by Coyotes

You can top dress with castings or compost anytime. Lime you should add to your soil about 30 days before you use it or it will burn your plants turning the leaves White. In a pinch you can use a small amount of hydrated lime on the surface and water it in , but the microlife donā€™t like it. I would only use it if you had severe pH or calcium issues . Check out Gugemeloā€™s Agroecological thread for a homeade recipe for calcium using eggshells and vinegar in equal proportions.

Great info @Upstate. Thank you for that. My cats piss in my flower beds but these city deer donā€™t give a shit. Theyā€™ll just eat and move on down the line. I have a dozen or so in my yard every morning and evening. One had twins on my front porch. We get to watch them grow up in the neighborhood and turn in to city deer.

Blessingsā€¦

I suppose City deer are used to those types of smells and have figured out they donā€™t mean anything. A dozen deer every day and babies on the porch! I suppose thereā€™s not much you can do about that except maybe some fencing. Itā€™s a trade-off having Wildlife around. Itā€™s great to watch them but they can cause some damage.
Glad you pointed out how feisty they can be. Looks like City deer are a whole other ball of wax compared to Country deer that still deal with natural predators. Blood meal might still work but it sounds like you enjoy watching the deer anyway. I donā€™t think you would want your porch smelling like coyote pee ,LOL!

Not the ambiance Iā€™m looking for. Your right I do enjoy them. I built chicken wire cages for my plants and blooming shrubs. They get fed celery, carrots, blueberries and avocados by Ms oleskool but they still eat my shit I have planted!

Blessingsā€¦
