That delayed itch in the back of the throat... commercial smoke

Aye it’s balls being caught out in-between harvests needs must and that at times though

I agree with many of the posters here, the quality of commercial cannabis is really suspect these days, both legal and BM. I’d rather smoke a good batch of mexican brick from 20 years ago than most of what goes for “high grade” these days, and I waste good money on expensive product from name brands, most of the low end stuff looks and smells really good but is stright boof. I really do feel sorry for new smokers and medusers these days, I can’t wait to put a tent back up and have some decent smoke.

In chicago they must love the despensary weed its 600$ an oz 76$ for 3.5 grams and i sent a buddy a jar that he weighed. It was 2.6 grams so i guess they are stealing from the product. There was no reason for him to lie about the weight it was a gift. Never been back. Its nothing but another tax for chicago. They rushed to pass it acting like they were helping us. The only people who can grow are med patients who pay for the expensive permit. People here say the same thing the weed just makes you lazy.

My recent experience at Flowery here in Staten island. Waiting for my girls to finish and I need some herb so I said let me see what they have. One brand had some old school strains, durban and green crack, both smalls.

Opened the bags… Rock hard little pellets, both smell same, both throat burn. High seemed just dead, like no life to it.

This industry is raping this plant. Just like any other industry. And that what sucks, these new smokers will never know.

Damn I seen there Florida facility on canna cribs I was actually impressed. Seemed like one of the ones that was doing it right. Alot can change from license to license though so I’m not surprised.

Theres so much more I wish I could share around this subject, smoking gun type stuff, I won’t though out of fear of losing my job at the facility I work at.

I agree they slowly sucking the soul out of there plants.

The thing is I don’t blame them, they gotta do what they gotta do. It all relates to the legislation in place and testing requirements.

Also if someone wants to find the real thing they will by looking. It all depends on where you grew up who you knew and what risks you were willing to take.

The thing is that it came on as medical, and now full rec. We lose sight of the medical benefits, we don’t go into the intricacies of each variety and how it bodes with our minds and bodies. Definitely could be an arm in the health industry for all patients, create a lot of jobs for caregivers. But no, we build big ass stores dedicated for cartoony trash weed. All stupid ass displays, nothing to do with what it does.

Some legal states don’t let you open the bag or jar to smell. If the only information you have is thc% and how frosty it looks in a bag, there’s very little incentive to cure right.

There is good weed where I’m at. Like nicely trimmed and cured. It’s $60-150 an 1/8th for the nice stuff. It’s pretty hard for me to tell the difference between dispo weed under $100 an oz

Lol what? 60 to 150 an 8th? At that point I would smoke rosin no? See this plant is considered like alcohol with its THC content. If they could they would produce 40 50 60 THC cardboard that sprinkles gold hues and people would go nuts. Maybe just infused bud with makeup is the glamor.

I recently looked at the dispensary menu and said fuck this and tried the beach instead.

But I also have some cookies based stuff I grew that’s awesome.

Here in California dispensaries we have some labels like: O-Cal, Clean Green Certified, and Sun-and-Earth which is more-or-less comparable to organically grown. They might be cleaner than the usual commercial weed, and tout sustainability and biodegradable packaging. But, they’re all are bone dry that you can actually grind them up by rubbing a nug in between your fingers. The smoke is like cardboard mixed with sadness. Still, I thought I was doing myself a favor by seeking brands with these labels.

One brand was running a promotion: “Buy an eighth and get a free eighth for 5 cents” Sweet! I thought. The cute budtender behind the counter was a bit hesitant to give me the free eighth. I thought she was saving it for her friends or something like that. Well, it turned out that free eighth had bud rot. Absolutely disgusting! It’s an undeniable taste in mouth that lingers about. I was so pissed and threw everything out!

The same day I decided to shop for a tent and grow my own. And, haven’t looked back since! They still send me “We miss you, special promotion just for you!” emails. No thanks. They might be grown using living soil, organic sprays and such, but there is no regulations on distributing rotten moldy weed whatsoever. Be ware!

Lm$ao that’s insane.

I feel for the folks that consistently shell that out.

It literally grows out of the ground :joy:

Please watch this through to the end for entertainment purposes.

Love it.

I myself witnessed my grandma buy land in a rural part of my city of Bialystok in Poland after her factory work in the city. She survived the WWII and used to eat roots from the ground. Still to this day it’s really hard to comprehend but she worked that land herself basically. I had cherries, strawberries, potatoes, rabbits, chickens of course with eggs, apples and berries. Shit just grew. She used to hussle her produce at the market. One thing she mentioned a long time ago is how the chicken is full of water nowadays, obvious pump for lb. Any time a corp takes over the quality goes down. That’s why prohibition Sour d was fire.

It makes you wonder how there an entire population of people who were born in apartment buildings, who never ventured outside the city.

These forums and others are in a sense a level up to our cannabis consumption. It’s as of we are in a different dimension.

Here in Mass you can get dispo eighths for under $10 but that shit is for quarterbacks with 18 concussions, the weed equivalent of Popov vodka. At $25-30 you’re going slightly up in quality but we’re still talking last resort stuff for growers. Get seeds and wait months like a man.:+1:

I have personally ran a state sanctioned commercial grow. Stay away from dispensary weed at all cost. Even if the head grower wants to pump out fire the corporate heads will shit on it for not paying pennies per gallon of nutes etc…and dare to ask to run organic? NO FUCKING WAY! Have personally witnessed the testing people pick around moldy buds to grab ones they couldn’t see mold on. Grow your own and save your lungs .

This here minimally cured purple romulan is great tasting, smooth, and gets ya ripped more than a dab of Live resin from what i can tell.

Prohibition Sour D and the black market strains were not organic. Hydro ruled the day back then, living soil wasn’t even a thing, and people didn’t want dirt weed. It’s was all about the dro.

I never seen any dispensaries that grow in hydro, most of them grow in dirt. The good ones grow in coco and hydro is kind of a lost art nowadays.

Growing in dirt and not flushing your weed is common. Commercial grows have everything on a 8 week cycle, they chop every strain at 8 weeks. Then they do a fast dry on unflushed dirt weed.

Don’t blame hydroponics because some of the worst stuff I’ve ever smoked is dirt weed, outdoor garbage, etc

Hydro gets a lot of hate for flavor but my buddy grew some really good hydro. Definitely the best source i had for a while.

Ill admit ive paid more for dro… but it was genuinely nicer buds. The folks who sold it just took better care of their flowers from start to finish. They actually cared about their buds.

I suspect a bigger part is just poor handling after harvest. Not drying and curing effectively. My buddy makes some insanely tasty rosin, wins tons of competitions, but his flower is usually lacking in flavor. Id rate his rosin 9/10-10/10 and his flower 5/10. I dont know if he even brings flower to comps anymore.

He grows Living soil KNF style. Definitely knows how to grow terpy weed but he just doesnt have an ideal drying and curing method.

I get that with certain oil cartridges if I go to the dispensary. I think recreational weed I know for a fact it is much less regulated than medical. Massachusetts allows growers to sell to the dispensaries TO CHOOSE which samples they want to submit for mold and other toxins :exploding_head:
