No whos that? My moms say im like a shaman
i study/practice steiner, sheldrake and a few others
and i have found it always comes down to the little things ![]()
Thanks for sharing your experiences.
I would also like to share mine.
I’m quite new to breeding but found the perfect spot here to do my research. I had good experiences in terms of medicinal effects (pain relief and anti-inflammatory) with the Royal Queen THCV, which are supposed to be around 7% but are not fully finishing here in the north, due to long flowering times (~16 weeks). Since they are only available as regular, i tried to do a seed-increase by selfing from a clone i cut and stressing it to herm by the silver-spray method.
It fully hermed but the pollen produced not a single seed on the mother. I’m just too inexperienced to know what might have been the problem. Did anybody have similar experiences and knows what could be the cause?
Your experience with the Hoku variants sound nice, especially the Madvillain seems to have the effect i like. But what really caught my attention is the Free the V, that you describe. You are really lucky to get your hands an these seeds.
I’m curious about the future outcome of your crosses with these.
Have you probably considered doing a seed increase, to preserve the strain before using it for crosses?
Or would you probably be up to share some (3-5 seeds) for me to do a seed increase this season and share them back with you and in general here on OG?
It actually is a really special THCV rich strain with quite unique traits, just achieved by selective landrace breeding, really worth preserving and spreading imho…
I also have some Paraguayo landrace to share which is self sourced and is a quite activating sativa.
Cheers
I just looked and have 9 seeds left. Totally fine with sending them all your way. They’re not really my preferred terp profiles.
Would you expound on this please, what was its profile? And what terp profiles do you prefer? Thanks
I highly appreciate that! Thanks a lot!
I will do a see increase then and make it available here, for those who are interested. Can i also send you some Paraguayo in exchange?
Also have my own White Widow x Watermelon cross, which i call Triple Double, if you wanna try? Terpwise reminding me of old Skunk strains, maybe a bit sweeter…
Could you drop me a PM?
Grape and catpiss are the main flavors. I’m fine with the ammonia dominant phenos but I really am not into grape. And most phenos are grape based. I know that I’m in the minority with this but I’ve never been a fan of grape flavors. I prefer citrus, haze, gas, etc.
Hopefully that explains. Effects are are up my alley, flavor not so much.
@Russell14 what about fermented apple?
its kinda like a vingar almost with some phenos kinda like blue dream without the black pepper, this is old Toby’s profile
maybe like cider?
yes i think we could call it cider ![]()
That sounds very interesting! I’m pretty much fine with all flavors outside of grape. Don’t know why….i eat grapes……but don’t like grape juice, or jelly…or wine that much. ![]()
I will openly admit that I generally don’t enjoy the flavor of any 75%+ purple buds. Unless it has a strong flavor profile of gas or something else.
I have a feeling anothyacins impart a flavor of some type that I’m not particularly fond of. Never ready anything about them imparting flavor but I have a hunch.
I also am a Sativa head so that usually means green. There are purple sativa’s for sure don’t get me wrong!
Vinegar made me think of the catpiss (ammonia) profile. I have a distinct memory of my first encounter with NorCal catpiss. Sweet flavor under that nose! I would have been fine with that profile but all 3 females I got were varying degrees of grape. So…I moved on that moment, stumbled across GTR seeds and instantly was intrigued. Hoku seeds has used the DD THCV in some of his stuff as well. Says on his site it the most commercially viable THCV strain he’s come across so far in terms of bud structure.
Apple is tart and sour/sweet sounds awesome!!
I’d call it Green orchard since angry orchard is cider.
Personally i find purple “generic”, the terps aren’t distinctive enough/the high, it’s just meh, makes me hungry sleepy. Catpiss was a favorite of mine, friend would get cheap weight from cali and sold it as “mids”. Literally smelled like cat took a piss outside.
I named it Old Toby in association with its buzz not its terps, but thats a good name in relation to a terp profile ![]()
Yeah, that’s what i thought too when i saw the name.
i am more than delighted by everything i read about old toby!
I’m also fine with most flavors, except for too minty and too sour, .
But grape is definetely amongst the ones i love.
Also citrus, amonia, and woody, earthy tones, found in some asian and african sativas.
What i had once was an quite dark green Acapulco weed, that had a very distinct flavor of Oolong Tea, for those who know that flavour.
And it almost looked like Oolong Tea by color.
I loved it, but was never able to find it again. So uplifting.
The Acapulco Gold that i grew afterwards was quite different.
I once had a Choclate Thai that came close.
I probably post this on a discussion about oldschool sative terps… Maybe someone knows…
Yes we have been down this rabbit hole ![]()
Haha, i can imagine! ![]()
So many (“landrace”)seeds out there that aren’t really what they are advertised for… Discouraging
@foxtailor and not only that but AG , Panama and a few others are old old hybrids so thats why every year is so different especially since these seed companies get ahold of it and select for short flowering times each year trying to speed them up , it just shifts its chemotype in a way thats not the same as say 1970 AG
