I don’t get it…why was Lawn Jarts Banned? Those Bola looking kids toy, 2 hard plastic balls with strings were banned too…there were a lot more dangerous things back then…

1970’s Motown, hell 70’s music was great back then now still…let’s not forget that radio station WLS.

The two plastic balls could explode and fuck u up they were called clackers
Lawn darts were great until some idiots decided they could catch them. Dead or maimed children followed . But I can sum up the 70’s best
Ounce = 40$
1/2 z = 20$
Dime bag = 10$
Nickel bag = 5$
When an ounce moved to 50$ in 1980, people revolted!

when I was a stupid mouth breathing kid I threw a Jart straight up in the air and when it came down it struck my shoe/foot, luckily only between my big toe and the toe next to it, and it went through my sneaker and in to the ground. Luckily my toe was only scraped a little, and no blood. I just yanked the Jart out of the ground and went back to playing again as if it was nothing lol.

I’m sure by now they can make non-exploding Clackers and as far as Lawn Jarts for adults only, must be 21 to buy it, hell sell them at gun shops… Don’t ban them altogether…that’s just my opinion…:rofl:

I do know a couple of people in this small town I live in that has them and they won’t sell it…I’ve offered them a hundred an still wont sell it.

I’m just old enough to just barely remember the late 70s. I remember older kids in the neighborhood that were definitely post-hippies and stoners.

I’ve been on a kick lately, buying up old issues of High Times Magazine…
Just wanting to see what folks were talking about, and how much was known about strains and growing back then.

The late 70s issues are just so much fun. Lots of Age of Aquarius, Carlos Castaneda mindset writings. But, mostly the crazy ads, and a lot of the mail-order stuff. Hysterical.

So much emphasis on cocaine though… and smuggling. Lots of articles about smuggling :grimacing:

I used to submit prices to the “Trans-High Market Quotations” at High Times. Yeah there was a lot of coke crap in there at that time, and also more stuff about psilocybin etc…

All so dangerous but most of us survived. Not without a few battle scars to prove it .
