Montreal was home to the best home delivery service I have ever seen. Someone you knew had to introduce you , then your address was assigned a 4 or 5 digit code. You simply put that code into the pager you called and usually within the hour someone was there with an amazing assortment of bud , hash , cookies , brownies etc. Prices were very fair and the quality of everything was top notch. You could also get shrooms , but had to let them know in person in advance.
Hello my fellow Canuck’s!
In speaking with my Doctor yesterday, it seems he is open to the possibility of filling out the application forms to Grow for Personal/Medical Purposes through Health Canada.
I know he is very new to this! I know there is a lot about Cannabis (as a medicine) he likely doesn’t understand.
Does anyone have any suggestions or advice, something that worked for you while you were in process of applying?
Even some general information I could include with the email package he requested I send to him with the Health Canada Application to “look over”?
Any/all help is appreciated.
Thanks so much, feel free to DM me.
I would suggest mentioning your reasoning for needing it priority then explain you plan on eating as well as smoking he will probably start you out at a gram or 2 a day .
Other than that just make sure all 11 pages are done correctly or they will boot it back to you. Also make copy’s of everything and send originals registered mail .
Good morning @KanehB
Your doctor doesn’t need to fill the grow permit application out, just a document supporting the use of cannabis for medical purposes (it’s basically the “prescription”) here is a download link https://www.canada.ca/content/dam/hc-sc/migration/hc-sc/dhp-mps/alt_formats/pdf/marihuana/info/Medical-Document-EN.pdf
Once you have it, you can fill out the grow permit application yourself to send in with the note you got from the doc. Like @ShiskaberrySavior said make copies of it and the form the doctor signed, then send in the originals of both. I would recommend sending with tracking so it doesn’t get lost.
Here is the link to download a pdf of the acmpr application

Simply explain to him how Cannabis helps manage your medical conditions and that you’ve found it to be very beneficial. The daily amount in grams directly correlates to your plant count, here is a plant count calculator to help you figure out the amount of plants you can legally grow after applying, in correlation to your daily limit.
Don’t be afraid to tell him you consume 5-10 grams a day, if you do. Between smoking, edibles, capsules and salves, I’ve already used at least 5 grams just this morning.
I am curious as to how many people here have had their Dr try to lower their script? Mine is a great Dr and is telling me the medical association that over sees the licensing is telling Dr not to go more then 2.5g a day.
Good morning to you as well.
Thanks so much for all the info, and links.
This definitely makes it a lot less daunting feeling. I will get a move on putting something together to email to him quickly.
Thank you too! I appreciate all the help I can get.
I’ll be taking all of it into consideration moving forward.
Many blessings.
I haven’t heard anything that extreme, but I know health Canada is trying to reduce plant counts across the board. There’s been a few police departments saying that they’re finding lots of homes specifically bought for growing. People getting licenses for a few hundred plants and using an entire house lol.
My prescription got lowered for my grow license.
If things don’t work out with your current doctor, there’s plenty of services that you can use that will handle everything for you. Getting the prescription is a 10 minute phone call and they’ll help you through the ACMPR application process. Some are free and some might charge a fee.
Good luck!
Yeah, they offered me up to 500 plants when I got my license, I though it was a complete joke. I went with the lowest possible which was 25 plants which gives me some room to play with clones. I honestly feel the plant counts should be lower for most people. Giving someone a plant count in the hundreds is unnecessary and causes Health Canada to look at us medical growers too much. I mean really, who needs hundreds of plants for a personal medical grow? If they do they are clearly the exception and not the rule. I can see having some wiggle room in case of bad crops or pheno hunting to get the medicine you need but there get’s to be a point where the counts are so high it is really laughable. How bad is their growing style, can they just not get a plant to harvest? Also most don’t have the space to run that many plants nor the ability to consume them personally. There really needs to be a middle ground where the patient/grower is covered while not giving out a plant count that is absurd.
I personally believe they like those pay to play places and their crazy plant counts as it helps to justify cracking down on medical growers.
I would be so happy to legally be able to grow 25 plants. I’m not a med user, but as a grower it would give so much more flexibility.
I hear you man. I used to just grow my 4 plants limit and while I could produce more but than I could use it did not give me the ability to do some things like reveg a plant, make clones, start new seedlings a few weeks before harvest, etc. The added plant count definitely makes life nicer.
