You guys were talking about the housing market recently… here’s why I think it’s so effing insidious.

We’re renovating this historical building… the ad probably read

Incredible historical building 12 bedrooms 6 baths 3 giant stone fire places. Freshly renovated, very well located.
Etc

Let me walk you through that ad and translate it for you.

Historical = rotten to the core

Giant stone fireplace = beautiful but not up to code since 1976, it’ll cost you 20k per fireplace to meet environmental requirements and you won’t be able to use it.

Freshly renovated = yeah we just added a new layer of Gypsum on top of the 2 previous ones to hide the mold. We sold the oak cabinets and put flashy modern cardboard boxes with doors instead

Very well located = youll be stuck in traffic day and night. Enjoy.
