Canada Post wanted $37 to ship a thank you card, with 1 puck inside, with tracking to Europeā¦
Absolutely insane. They called it a parcel because they said something was inside.
I ship the same package, with stamps, dropped in a mail box, for less than $3. Also makes it faster than the tracked stuff tbh.
Went to my normal post office and got them to do tracked registered mail for around $25. Not much better.
Its getting ridiculous. They also took the envelope and put it through the measuring for thickness, and because I tape my packages, it doesnt drop though unaided, but it goes through easily when slid. Trying to tell me it doesnt fitā¦ If it didnt fit, it wouldnt go through.
Now Canada Post is on strikeā¦

The ignorant shits lost any support from me. They have been in talks for a year and decided to strike as we go into the Christmas season, screwing over all their customers at the time they are needed most. I am sure they saw that as leverage but I am guessing most folks, like myself, dont like being screwed over and used as bargaining chips.

Its a common union tactic. Teachers/Caretakers threaten strike just before school starts as well. Screwing parents into daycare.
Its meant to piss off the public and put pressure on the government to give them what they want.
I personally detest unions. They had their place years ago.

Personally, I am waiting for my new licence, ohip and have to mail in my prescription for my grow licence. Then have the fall boxes to deal with. Oh well, nothing I can do about it.

Since I personally know a few poasties and I know how seriously they take their job and how hard that they like to work ā¦
Add that in with how large their sense of entitlement is and how they giggle about how good they have it I canāt support the workers, most of them do not live in the real world when it comes to recompense for their work .
I guarantee that if you were to scale a daycare worker or fastfood employee or even a basic cleaner to a Poastie youāll find that minimum wage should be around 50$ per hour with full medical and vacation tyme/personal tyme/family tyme/sick tyme and I have a tyme that you canāt ask me any questions about the because I feel harassed tyme .
Plus , if you have a new hire they should get all the same benifits as me but they canāt have the same as me so I need more benefits ā¦

Yeah, itās not looking good. The longer these extortionists are on strike, the worse things are going to be for Christmas. Good of them to wait until they could screw the most people over. Clearly they are using us all as leverage but I have a hard time feeling any sympathy for them. Not when they intentionally screw us all over for their own benefit.
