I thought they couldn’t give those RAW papers away.
Because of what happened with them.

No clue, but love the 300 size. Takes us just under 2 months a pack.
Not familiar with the political issues with raw. But they smoke and roll nice, don’t raunch out the throat.
They have a 500 as well, but the glue bends up on em after awhile. Making it a pain to roll.
I’d try something else if they came in a larger size.

"Canada Post is negotiating in bad faith while its employees are struggling to survive, an official with the Toronto branch of the union said, after workers across the country went on strike Friday.

Mark Lubinski, president of the Toronto Local Canadian Union of Postal Workers, said the rising cost of living has hit postal workers hard.

“We’re unable to survive,” he said. “We’re fighting for ourselves, our families and for our communities.”

From Canada Post workers can't survive on current wages: union official | CBC News

I had to read that twice to make sure that I read it right .

“If we hire someone today with job security, they’ve got a job for life and the defined benefit pension they’re paid through their retirement,” he said.

The struggle is real. Let’s all have a moment of silence for these brave struggling employees.

Well what good is a pension if it’s hard to live on your salary until retirement?

Just respectfully looking for perspectives I guess. I don’t understand why there’s so much rage about working people performing a valuable service to society asking for better pay and working conditions.

Maybe they’re asking for what looks like a lot, but you always ask for more than you expect to get in these kind of things. If they don’t strike nothing will change.

Yeah it’s inconvenient my fall box and some other stuff will be delayed but I can live with it.

I always get good service from Canada Post and would like that to continue.

I thought cp employees were negotiating for better working conditions. The rail workers, on their strike, were pissed about temporary and permanent relocations. But could I be misinformed.

Find out what a 10yr+ worker gets plus what his medical and pension looks like as time goes by.
It’ll look way different than a continuing care worker or nurse .
Not saying that there is anything wrong with their ask, just note that there is only talk of percentages and security, I’ve not seen the dollars talked about anywhere to put it into context .
My acquaintances always laughed that they got 3 chances to deliver the mail to the correct addy then it would be another poastie’s job to try again .

I’d argue there’s a little bit of envy. They have the luxury of collective bargaining, most don’t. They have pensions, most don’t.

I’m not saying they don’t deserve these things, I’m saying everyone deserves these things.

Having a “sweet government job” shouldn’t be a thing. The private sector should treat its employees in the same way.

Perhaps an unpopular opinion.

Where would I find this info ?

Use it or lose it.

Probably right about envy. I’m not in a union and have to fund my own retirement, it sucks but I’m happy to see others make use of those things while they still can.

For me, it’s not that they are asking, it’s that they are screwing over all of us to do it. They have been negotiating for a year on this. They could have had this strike months ago but instead chose to wait until the Christmas season was starting. This will have a major impact on not only many citizens Christmas’s but also a huge economic impact on many businesses that will lose a ton in sales due to the strike. I don’t begrudge anyone looking to improve their lives and don’t feel they are really asking for too much. I just feel the timing was calculated so they could use the people’s outrage as leverage to meet their goal. That goal, in this case, is going to impact many who rely on the revenue from Christmas sales to get through the year. The fall box thing is a small inconvenience that I have no issue with.

Take that info with a grain of salt, no mention on pension or benefits.

Well that’s fair and it’s definitely what they’re doing to try to force a better deal after so long. Better now than in December at least. Hopefully it’s wrapped up soon.

Looks like your average corporate office salaries.

I agree. It’s not right. I can see many making a switch to better more reliable couriers. The games they play will cause more money to be lost and eventually there would be cut backs on their jobs. We negotiate our contracts every 4 years and when the company ends up with an agreement they don’t like the layoffs and cutbacks come to keep the profit margins the same.
