The Cap Junky Cult and Her Crosses (Community Thread)

All welcome to post away. Let’s see what ya got.

Cap Junky, damn what a great strain this is. Some simple info below for those not familiar with these potent ladies.

What is Cap Junky? This is what I snagged from online…

Cap Junky is an evenly balanced hybrid strain (50% indica/50% sativa) created through crossing the iconic Kush Mintz X Alien Cookies strains. A super high-powered hybrid with relaxing yet active effects, Cap Junky is the perfect choice for any connoisseur. The high hits you fast and hard, slamming you between the eyes right after your final exhale with a dizzying happy sense. You’ll feel tingly and mentally stimulated, filled with a sense of euphoria that has you soaring and easily chatting with anyone around you. This tingle will soon spread throughout the rest of your body, lulling you into a state of relaxation that doesn’t have you feeling too sedated. With these effects and its super high 33-34% average THC level, Cap Junky is said to be perfect for treating a variety of conditions including bipolar disorder, depression or mood swings, chronic pain, cramps or muscle spasms and chronic stress. This bud has a sweet and fruity flavor with a potent punch of flowery menthol. The aroma is of spicy fresh menthol, pungent pine and gassy diesel with a touch of fruitiness. Cap Junky buds have dense and conical forest green nugs with emerald-green leaves, thin orange hairs and a coating of tiny, milky amber crystal trichomes.

A nice description of CJ but this is a strain you have to experience at least once. Yeah, it’s that good.

Let’s see what ya got OG. Tell us about your experience and share your pics of CJ and all her crosses.
If you’ve not experienced CJ maybe this thread will encourage you to do so.

I’ve got some years of experience growing and I’ve come across some nice strains before but this CJ never stops impressing me.

I’ve decided to make an effort to grow all the CJ crosses I can find or maybe even make seed at some point.

So this is my experience with Cap Junky. I acquired the seed from the veterans giveaway last year donated by @lovedaautos. I had no idea what CJ was and after some research I decided to give it a go.

Probably one of the better decisions I’ve made in strain selection is to grow these girls out. I planted 3 S1s and found 3 different plants but I’m cool with that. Each had its own look and build. They grew strong and vigorous and stacked up well in flower. All three stayed true and none of them kicked any mystery seed out.

Long slender spiral spear type buds. Not super big. CJ isn’t a big yielder but it makes up for that in potency and a very pleasant smoke.

However I did find a plant that packed on bud moreso than her sisters so I keep cloning the girl and running her over n over.

Future plans for CJ? I need to aquire some pollen. I have CJ growing all the time so it’s just a matter of time before I can start making my own crosses of this. I’m not real schooled on making seed but I’ll put forth the effort for this strain.

Would it be weird to say these buds smell like a freshly opened can of coffee? They do.

Cap Junky is a favorite of mine for sure. Taking clones on Monday for a flower run. It’s a real looker when flowering out.

This is a Cap Junky Chem91. The creation of @gcbuds.

I’ve grown this girl 3 cycles now and have clones lined up for another run. Yeah, it’s that good…lol.

I see a lot of similarities of the CJ in this strain. Same kind of bud formation but slightly more mass to them.

I love the CJ but I tell ya this stuff is what folks ask for by name when they come over. It has a slightly more floral gas aroma to me. The buds in flower get a little frosty but they don’t over do it. They also give off a greasy type feeling when touched.

Definitely a top shelf conisour type bud. Well worth the time to grow. If your looking for potency then CJ is a good starting point. Just plain stupid potent. Almost to much for me sometimes but I love it.

Awesome, please feel free to post in here. I’m slowly going to flip all my girls to CJ and her crosses eventually. I’m just that attached…lol.

Yeah, I’m kind of there with you. Haha. I’m running a bunch of cuts for the next year to try and narrow it down to 2-3, but I feel as if I could drop almost all of them and just run the CJ. I’m pretty positive it’s going to be one of the final 2-3.

Thanks man, jump in and grow some CJ. Ya won’t regret it. CJ herself is impressive but crosses of this I’ve seen are wicked. I hope some posts pop up from others growing this gem.

I came here by curiosity and would be happy to join the cult of this frosty lady. Did not hear about that strain yet, I love resin/flower ratio and uniformity of the plants.

I can only provide a picture of a mother in veg currently and that’s no fun, but I’ll have some flower pics in two months or so to throw in here. Maybe someone will pop in with pics of the Marshmallow cut or any other cuts of it he has released.

Roger that, looking forward to seeing what ya have going on. Feel free to post any n all stages though. I like comparing what I have to others.

I’d like to see all things Cap Junky or it’s offspring posted. There are many crosses out there. I’m gonna find them and grow all I can or make my own…lol

I’m in the process of harvesting a Cap Junky clone I flowered out and dusted a few buds with pollen from a reversed bog Sour Bubble plant.

Damn that sounds delicious. I see in your thread ya had a few crack. They are pretty fresh. This could be a winning cross. Only one way to find out…lol.

Hey, thanks for the kind words. Yeah man that chunky junky is one I’ve been eyeballing. Almost bought it from Johnny’s seed thread but it disappeared fast…lol.

My goal here is to bring together all those who appreciate and love the CJ and her crosses. Have some fun discussions on what would really cross well with the CJ n stuff like that.

I am smitten on her and CJ checks all the boxes for me so when I find that in my life I tend to exploit it. More is better…sometimes…lol

I recently had a 4 strain x cap junky seed run failure… not my best work…

I lost lots of pics with my laptop taking a shit, i dont keep many on my phone typically. Most are in my journal.

I have 3 CJ running now, i will drop a few pics in here towards the end.

Glad you like the cap junky so much, it confirms my thoughts that its a top choice for me as well.
