@Instg8ter I think I’m going to keep these pure, and with the reproduction of Panama going on I can’t really risk any other pollen. Thanks for the swap offer. I’d be happy to send you some pollen. I offered @lefthandseeds some pollen as well a while back. Doesn’t look like there’s going to be a ton of pollen. As soon as the males were within a couple days of dumping pollen, I took them out of the room, and I don’t know if I can continue to give them 12 hours of Darkness where they are now. My wife went in last night and turned a light on for 5 minutes. Right in the middle of the dark cycle. I think that might become a regular thing. Odds are they will switch back into veg mode before too much longer.
If you can save a little dust in a baggie that will do as Guitarzan is sending the Big Sur Holy Weed , that would give me both sides of the Xach Tribute and a pure reproduction.
"Hope they look better soon. Magnesium deficiency mainly. " A small amount of epsom salt will help with that deficiency. Follow that up with some alfalfa meal, they will help keep them healthy for a while.
Man that’s great. I haven’t seen much info online about them yet, but the flowering times they listed made me hopeful.
Two of four females are taking their time getting going into flower. One is faster than the others. With pinky nail size buds. I hope they flower for a long time…
No problem. I’ve fixed the dark period for the Oaxacan, too.
Looking great Amigo…can’t wait
What a great job your doing.
@Panamajock … thanks. The Panama plants are starting to show sex. It’s safe to say now that there are males and females with 50% of each so far… It’s officially a seed run. I plan on letting these get rather big to make sure I have plenty of seeds to give away for both The Freaks, and the coop . My favorite plant, a Panama 74 phenotype, that I was just sure was going to be a female, is a male. Shorter growth than many of the others, beautiful leaves. (It was the one that I took pictures of the funky leaves of early in the thread and it only had a mutation on that one leaf.) I’ll take a cutting of this male, and my favorite couple females, and I’ll make a separate batch of seeds. That’s the Hope anyway. Alot going on this year.
Yeah. I have grown some of Classic’s vars out. He doesn’t breed any more as he had a stroke. He’s an old surfer and had access to worked genetics from Mexico. Some of his friends keep his vars going but you can’t get them any more. A few years a go I managed to get some packs that had been kicking around for 10-15 years. The ones I really wanted to grow out were called Plata y Plomo because they seeds were from plants controlled by the cartels in Mexico and these seeds had been smuggled out under extremely dangerous circumstances.
Just to add how old school Classic is. He thinks autos are devil spawn. The term ‘Aloha’ he used extensively. Real old school surfer dude. One of those people who happily flew under the radar.
Yeah. i grew some out form a 2014 pack. I still have half a pack and had a keeper for a while. It was hardy as f. It withstood seasonal zero degree temps for a couple of years before finally giving up the ghost. I had a clone but actually never managed to try it. It was a multi-stem candelabra type plant with lemon/lemongrass terps. I crossed in to it and still have those seeds. When you caught the scent on the wind, it was lovely. Really wish I got to try it but never did.
Oh and it never hermed on me.
I did get a breeding pair on the Zach’s, actually collecting pollen on all the strains. I am going to open the Barn loft for them so there is no chance of cross pollination. Switched lamps and ballasts before this run and the first set of Mexicans are all small, have to meter the lights as my GG4 was loading trichs early then stopped and started stacking just the calyx’s. Have a feeling somethings off. Also been vegging and sexing under cheap LED’s and had a breaker problem that kept shutting lights down at 2:00 with the warm days and magnetic ballasts. Going to throw some digitalis back on and see if that helps.
Very cool! I’m hoping to run some of these myself but haven’t had the tent space. Thanks for the info @Mestizo and for running these @Instg8ter
your freakers Panamas are beutiful! @Upstate
Do you know wich Panama sonwhigh used?
It says Panama Back x Panama Red.
But snowhigh often calls Strains by color. He always labelled purple Vietnamese/green Vietnamese, but from same Line. So, could be just one single Line. Or probably Ace`s Panama involved… Im pretty shure he atleast involved his Panama Red… looks quiet similar
I got home late and wasn’t able to get pics of Central Americans. Will update in the morning. All are looking healthy although small. …
Thanks. Wider leaves than I would have pictured. Pretty surprised. It is early yet. They will slim down. It will be 4 weeks flowering in 3 days. Here is the one I’m growing…Snowhighs description says it best and answers all those questions.
youll have to excuse the dirt. I just topped off the pots with soil.I’m a little ashamed to show them, but here are the Oaxacan, transplanted into one gallon pots a week and a half ago(?) ago. This weekend they will go into 2 gallon, and Panama into one gallon, if the roots will hold the soil together…
Nice resin forming in Oaxacan. One is fruityish and one has a foul smell. Awesome smell. I cant place it, but it says, " you will like smoking me" when you smell it. Strong smell. Excellent structure.
Are you aware of any vigorous pre flowering females that look like they are actually flowering? I got a few going now and I got scared thinking I got autos instead or it was crossed because mine look like it now.
Not to my knowledge. They’re not in small pots per chance? I’ve had rootbound plants throw out lots of pre flowers before.
They’re flowering for sure…like @Mestizo says, small pots can do it if they are rootbound. Common in my old Afghan. No issues with tropicals, though, so far.
