The Central American landrace and heirloom thread (Part 3)

I do know one thing might not be in the text

He used Federation Hawaiian sativa to BX bunch of times to re-invigorate and remove some chronic leaf bortris /blight

He said what he has is back to the original as far as what it is or what it was originally

Yeah, been tellin’ that guy for years people want the Oaxaca!

This is going to be great to work with…

Be great cross to the cryptic pearl stem phenos

I think his health scare this summer may have convinced him to put it out as a fem for preservation reasons. I’m happy to have a pack to play with and I think I still have some Red Snake pollen.

So it’s actually Oaxacan x fed Hawaiian and not pure Oaxacan?

Edit: looking around, it seems like he did release the HOG as fems but still unclear whether the HOG he released as fems were bxed to Hawaiian at some point

Thats what it sounds like to me … but where did the Hawaiian come from? Could have been mexico … the plot thickens  lol

Extensive thread on ICM , in ACE vendor section , Green Mountain Seeds . He considers the HOG his bread n butter & won’t release it pure . His stuff is hybrids based on the HOG . Crossed with BSHW , Baglung Nepali , Hawaiin Sativa . Also crossed Feds Haw Sat w/ Malawi . Now distributed by ACE & like rest of their offerings not pure landrace but hybrids of mainly Sat Dom variety .

vermont man is straight up with everything he does

enough said

hes been with the Oaxaca long time…knows whats suppose to be like

yes, its a Oaxacan Gold BX w/ Federation Hawaiian sativa = Oaxaca side of his seeds

Now for the latest fem release its his Oaxacan bx x other seeds of the same Old '79 Oaxaca

He got some seeds back from a friend he gave seeds to years ago Then crossed to his

The whole story is most likely over @ ICmag or elsewhere vermontman may frequent more often

Be great to have seeds of the his Oaxacan in regs…

Always grateful for these old vintage seeds…Story is as good as this make it interesting…

Anyone get any of these?

Shit! Smh what next ? I just heard that “They” are spraying grains with glyphosate as a drying agent! WTF! Nothing is safe anymore all grain for food and livestock smh what will “they” come up with next!

That shit’s being going on since the 90’s! some farmers even spray HAY before harvest to dry it out. All the field potatoes here are sprayed before harvest… Ya man, one of the reasons I eat organic, from growers I know, home grown, and avoid the supermarkets as much as I can.

I recollect that Vman Bx’d his Oaxacan four times after that outcross. Interesting he did that to get around leaf blight - that septoria? Have a huge problem with that here. Interestingly I’ve found Purple Satellite to be the most septoria resistant strain I’ve grown, much more than Mountain Gold. I’d agree with @boatbum325 not pure landraces - even that Oaxacan, but still lovely, and nothing like modern hybrid flavour and effects.

im telling people since long times of inbreeding depression. what he discoverd in 20, 30 generations (i recall he inbreed it that long) , is the future of all landraces sadly. UNLESS we become aware of inbreeding depression, and always preserve the least inbreed line, not just the selected line…
Again its the future, because in origin the landraces changed in my oppinion and are nomore the same.
((its not the future if say in Germany per example one pollinates 2000 plant per Strain at once wich should be enough to fight InDep. The laws in Germany are some with the fewest paperwork and restrictions in the Seedmaking department :grinning:)

Yes, its a long time coming…We need populations of 3000 not …3

We will take the 3 !!! …but we do really need relief for breeding purposes

True preservation takes not only big numbers but also people that can remember the real thing and what its suppose to be like…time running out on that for sure

:sunglasses:God Bless the ones who plant these seeds

Harvested this Punto Rojo at 20 weeks it is my favorite of the 3. It tasted better from early samples at 16-18 weeks. This PR has a strong rush of energy and metal stimulating for the first 15 min then it’s settles to a relaxing not sleepy just more in the body.
