I have little experience but I’ve been told it can be used to cure fish or as a makeshift sousvide.

Definitely. Also it makes frozen stuff stay pretty much perfect for months. They’re great for stocking up on meat sales.

I found some ancient seeds underneath a house, in an old metal film canister.
It’s unlikely they will germinate, but I relish the attempt and the unknowable possibility of life.
What kind of window into the past could they show?

How old might you guess they are? What are average temps under this house?

Give them a slight rub with a matchbox or sandpaper and try planting some. Seeds can lay dormant for long time and still remain viable. What have you got to loose?? You may have your hands on something special
