The Future Is Now / So Much Drama In The LPC

With the LPC (London Pound Cake) challenge approaching I spent a good portion of my day setting up my tent which is full of brandy new equipment I’ve never used. The tent is now a command center I could only imagine until recently when I was lucky enough to get my hands on all this stuff.

For lights I’m going with 2 of @VIVOSUN’s AeroLights. While my Viparspectra XS2000 is way more powerful I’m really excited to see what these can do. Supposedly these have a sunrise and sunset fade feature from an ad I saw but I haven’t found it in the controls yet.

This actually showed up while I was setting up the tent and it was the last piece. 6" AeroWave. I have to be honest in just testing it out for a minute I wasn’t super impressed with the output. Actually if it wasn’t for the fans in the lights too I might be concerned. It syncs up to the fans in the lights which includes natural mode where it varies the speed mimicking winds.

Here’s the badass GrowHub controller. Paired with the app it’s pretty easy to dial everything in and control it all. The light/fans, clip on fan, and my inline fan are all controlled by this. It has the probe to measure temps and humidity as well to automate that if I want (I want).

For inline fan I have an AC Infinity Cloudline Lite 8" kit. 8" is insane overkill for me but it’s what was available. I’m still amazed by it and glad to have it.

I also got a venting kit from AC Infinity that I didn’t even know they made. Not the most stealth thing in the world but not overly obvious either. Unfortunately it only comes with 4" or 6" fittings so I will have to do some improvisation on the 8" duct. Should be easy enough. For some reason they didn’t put any kind of screen in it so I’ll be doing that as well. Bugs would be in a closed system but still. I just shoved some wool hats in it in the meantime.

Lastly there was no way to run my humidifier from the GrowHub so I lucked out that I also recently scored an AC Infinity Smart Outlet controller. It gave me two outlets that I can turn on or off and has it’s own probe for temp and humidity. There’s a timer feature but in my case it will automate the humidifier for me. I probably won’t need this for this grow but I definitely will if keep the tent up and grow into the fall and winter.

The humidity readings are off by a few % between the GrowHub and the Smart Outlet so I have to calibrate with something more reliable. I know I can manually adjust the humidity on the AC not sure if I can on the VVS but one way or the other I can at least get them on the same page. So get them synced, secure all the wiring nice and tidy, and finish ducting the fan out (no rush on that part).

WOrry less about the bugs and more about backdraft:

You can always TURN DOWN a fan but you need MORE FANS if you get one too small… GOOD PURCHASE!! Can you get that filter in the sky?

Hot air rises yo!

OOHH!! I didn’t know they made this now! How much coin?

LOOKING GOOD YOU SLICK ONE!!! :+1:

Technically test but not in the way it goes on most grow forums. I don’t know how specific I should be but I’ll say I’ve been super fortunate, it’s all legal, and everything comes from the companies direct. If I had to pay for any of it I would have none of it

Thanks for the links! I hadn’t even thought about the backdraft but good call. It goes on the list. Not sure about getting the filter up higher, just not sure I have the real estate. On the lowest setting it sucks in my tent like Homer eating a lemon

Not sure what the Smart Outlet goes for since I didn’t really have to pay attention to that when I got it. I do know from the manual that there’s another version where the outlets are attached to the screen though.

Did you get in on the challenge?

No, this is the first I have heard about it. I look forward to following along though.

If you want to get in on it there were a few members who were providing beans to people who wanted in. Worth asking in the thread if you’re interested.

Thanks man. The LPC is new to me as well. Saw the challenge and after reading up on the strain a little I was all over it. Welcome to the winning LPC thread! You hear that @MoBilly? :kissing_heart:

Delusions of grandeur my friend. lol
Delusions can be fun until someone pulls the curtain back and there you are, an old, half passable magician playing at being the “Great and Powerful BUZZ”!

You see what I did there!? That’s called “trash talk”! I’m learning to be obnoxious!!! You guys are such great teachers!

Definitely set to watching this thread bro, even though I’ll see your pics on the LPC thread too right?

Damnit I’m out of likes already!

I always thought Delusions Of Grandeur would be a great album name if I ever started a band. Also you couldn’t possibly know how much you hit the nail on the head with the Wizard of Oz reference here! I’m looking at this high tech setup I got going on and keep thinking I’m the oldest slowest component. Don’t look behind the curtain!

Glad to have you along and yup I’ll definitely be updating that thread with them as well.

Yeah. I was looking at your new science project. Did a lesson plan come with all that?

I could use one!

Thanks man. That makes two of us! Last night playing around with it I found the app to be easier to work with than the controller itself.
