The Junkyard awaits

I did get a whole grip of your seeds, but none of them were that cross. I got some Bodega Bubblegum x Nigerian Sunshine but killed the half pack I started. These were definitely the ones labeled BW x AP. Wouldn’t be mad if one of the others slipped through tho, everything you’re working looks like fire.

One slipped through. Anything that included my Nigerian Sunshine (male or female) shows that coloration.

That bottom plant is definitely a BW leaner. Those tops will make small domes. Make sure she gets good interior air movement. BW is a relatively fast indica and her flowering time will be very indicative of how hard of a leaner she is.

Okay! I’ve only grown one Goji cross so far and it was one of my faves, so that’s cool! Noted on the short one, I’ve been keeping it in the middle of the 4x4 and defoliating the inside to keep the air moving. Good to know that the coloration is a sign of Nigerian Sunshine, too.

I would assume it was the BB x NSS. But I don’t want to make an ass out of you or me.

I am sticking with NS2 x Goji OG.

I’m just taking this as a sign that I was meant to try some Nigerian Sunshine sooner rather than later! That was my original intent for this run, before I borked up seed starting. I’ve got a pack of the pure stuff from Gas but wanted to try a hybrid inside first since people say it’s a tall one and I’m still working on my height training. This one’s gonna be a beauty, Goji is a damn fine strain and one I’ll be growing in some form for a long time.

The coloration comes from the BMR side of the Nigerian Sunshine. I am pretty sure that Gas told me directly that the Peace Corps Nigerian was red so if you get anything red KEEP IT.

That Goji pollen was donated to me by someone on another forum. That Nigerian mom was my purple pheno. I pollinated her with Goji, stripped the seeds out, she RE-FLOWERED so I pollinated her a 2nd time with Granny Skunk, all in one outdoor season. I was amazed she carried two full-term loads in one season.

There was NOTHING tall about anything in my NS hunt. I did have the dad in tissue culture but let him go. This was him:

Nigerian Sunshine x Goji looking gorgeous, she’s really filling in solidly and looking like a yielder. Blackwater/Apollo in the center still small, weird, super sticky, forming those dometops with some regular defoliation to keep them visible (both of the BW and also the lower leaves of the surrounding ones, it’s crowded with five 7g smartpots in this 4x4!). Really looking forward to seeing these two at harvest.

I just wanna take a bite out of it

Those both look great. It is good to see the Blackwater coming through in that Apollo cross and I love the NS x Goji contrast between the purpling and bright white pistils

You’re working with some serious shit man :man_dancing:.

Your mother room has got to be a fucking jungle :joy:.

A “fucking jungle” is an understatement. Jack’s 3-2-1 is working “too well” if that is a thing. This is two full 4x8 trays (you can really only see the front one). Newly tissue cultured replacement mothers are not pictured. Anyone in need snips? LOL.

I cannot really answer your question regarding the SLH or SLSMAC as I have not grown flowers in over a year now.

Guess I’ll have to do some reading up lol.

Jesus … I’ll definitely help ya clean some branches up when I get going lol.

Beautiful laboratory aesthetics! Tissue culture is a whole other level of intensity. What’s the composition of a standard growing media to keep a mother going anyways?

Yes, I’ve been doing tissue culture since the end of 2019. I teach folks how to do it, consult on lab builds and do a little remediation as well.

Most general plant tissue culture media composition is comprised of a gelling agent (agar), a carbohydrate/carbon source (sugar), nutrients (MS), and plant growth regulators (auxin/cytokinin).

If you can follow a recipe to cook you can science just as easily.

Do you need any sort of expensive lab equipment? Or is it all doable at home?

How long does tissue culture store for?

Cause I definitely want to use any resource possible to back up my sour bubble keeper when I find it.
