The Junkyard awaits

Thanks for the heads up. I haven’t chatted with Gas for a spell but I saw the Pot Cast post the interview on IG. I got about 30 minutes in and had to stop it. NOw I gotta go finish it.

Gas is a hidden workhorse and him and I have a lot in common. Same age, toured with the GD at the same time, stomped around the PNW, etc. I have never been a fluff boy but he puts in the work tent farmers lie about.

I think that he has a pretty good idea of how much I appreciate that he is a weed warrior too.

I have some real gems that he has shared with me and hope that I can break myself away from fad weed long enough to get in some more chops soon.

It’s at 1:45:00. The episode was a good listen. He sounds like a high energy dude, and straight forward that’s for sure. I bet he’s got a lot of gems in his collection. Pretty cool that he’s shared some with you.

Thanks, I will make sure I’m not too stoned that far in. LOL

He’s all into NL. Like overboard into it and works the lines hard. I gave him the NL5 and NL1 I had and he hit me back 20x with stuff he’s worked through along with pictures and descriptions.

Hell, he sent me a cut of his NL5 BX Mom A and it melted in shipping. A+ for effort!

This type of person don’t come around that often.

Before the Alaska Cannabis Cache became as popular as it did me and a buddy used to do trades and get seeds inexpensively from Heime Cheeba. As some of you may or may not know Heime Cheeba passed away recently in a motorcycle accident. Rest In Paradise, Dirty Jim.

I have been discussing with said friend about doing open pollinations of everything that we got from him and giving them all away in an effort to honor Jim’s legacy of cannabis preservation.

I’m curious if there is anyone here that would be willing to commit to setting their personal grow space to the side for 4-5 months to help us re-produce some of Jim’s work.

For transparency’s sake, I do not intend on running these through the normal seed co-op channels for recruitment. We need people that we can trust to help us see this through to the end. We can credit anyone that helps and may opt to use the co-op channels for distribution. A decision can be made when we get to that point.

Is anyone willing to help?

Random post alert!!

Below is a picture of roots growing in tissue culture. This is a cookies cross bred by Archive Seeds that I am remediating for a client. I won’t show the side of the jar because it says what it is and who it’s for.

Folks talk about how hard it is to get plants to root in vitro, and they are right. It was the hardest of the micropropagation stages to get good at. Once you’ve done it enough you learn tricks and then teach them to others.

I’m all for repopulating the Cambodian. I think he sent it to me because I was talking with him about how that was the only drop out of Mel Frank’s stuff I didn’t get (even got Mel’s gsc x chem and gsc x GDP, as well as all four cbd things he released).
There is another member close to me that holds Hemie’s Durban also.

Here is what I have. I am trying to get Michael’s list too since we both got very different strains. I had a Super Silver Haze as well but lost it when I gave it to someone local that I trusted and never got anything back. I have an eery feeling that I am going to have to do the OPs myself if I really want this done right.

I have seeds of pure Durban from Heime’s line that was kept separately by another Alaskan he knew for the last decade or two, but bred pure. If there’s a Durban preservation run I’d be happy to contribute some of those to it

That purple u-dub sounds nice to me.

I would love to do an OP seed run. I can start them relatively soon ( in a few months after i find and use some Romulan Blueberry pollen in my garden). Then I am moving and will do the Ogre Seed Run. It would be my pleasure to preserve this for many to grow. !!! That tissue culture set up is really nice. How well do they travel??

@Kami, I will add you to the list.

There won’t be a lot of restrictions but this will be open pollination. Open means OPEN. This means please grow out ALL females and ALL males together. Feel free to move them around as you see fit but pretty please, open means open.

I would recommend a numbering system and some light notes and when you strip seeds keep each pollinated mother’s seeds separated. We can mix them after the fact. That is it. For your time we can discuss you holding some personal back before sending them back for distribution.

Let’s get some other folks on board and I will be in touch via pm.

Those jars travel OK but test tubes travel much better. This client is local.

Yes I understand the reason behind a open pollenation vs a selected polination. This is to ensure all the genetic information comes through to the next filial generation. They will be labeled with steaks and numbered and my good old sniffer will try and explain the scents and notes on plant structure and size, bud shape a density. etc…Seeds from each mother will be kept seperate like you wish. Thank you it would be appreciated to have a % of the seeds to grow, give out at local events , and maybe vend a few packs to fund a new light for myself to help expand my grow.
