Iā€™m definitely interested in preservation efforts. I have been working with open pollination a couple of grows now. Recently collected pollen from 6 different males of a same strain search.

Let me know if I could be of any help.

Sorry I have been absent folks. I got a new day gig and it has been a kick in the nuts, to say the least.

In the Bad News category, I lost my Blackwater mother. She never liked to root well and despite well over a year of trying to get her through tissue culture, she failed repeatedly. Then I had a pump fail and an HVAC exhaust come undone at the same time during a nasty heatwave and my lone Blackwater mother got smoked. Cā€™est la vie. She was fun and it was a good dozen years but her progeny lives on. I figured that after all these years it is Jah telling me to move on.

On the good news front, I will reach out to some of the folks above to get some of Jamesā€™ stuff into open pollinations.

More good news is that I decided to flip the light cycle on my entire nursery a week ago to clear out the ā€œfad weedā€ and prepare for some pheno hunts and monocrops.

I have two of my GGG Grape Stomper x OG males one big stud and his clone.

Here are the soon-to-be-mommies:
Animal Mints x Face Off
Colombian x GDP
Duct Tape
Fatso
Ice Cream Cake
Kush Mints
Lemonade x Dosidos
Mango Mintality
NYC Piff #3
Papaya
Peanut Butter Souffle
Sundae Driver
Cereal Milk
Wedding Pie
MAC1
GMO Cookies
White Runtz
Gradniguava

I really only plan on keeping a few of these as I begin squishing my life away with a 12 ton press. Here is the stud dad. He is about 4+ā€™ tall in 3-gallons of coco and 1 week into flowering. Heā€™s making a huge mess

@SCJedi @Dirt_Wizard Gotta thank you both (and all the others) for a most entertaining thread! Found this very late, but definitely a case of better late than never!

My first exposure to your work SC, but boy will I be keeping my eyes open from now on! :star_struck: I would love to show your ladies around Asia if they ever feel like traveling!

And DirtWizardā€¦YES, you ARE! Phenomenal job showing what these gals can doā€¦and a damn fine job of making SC look way better than ā€œgoodā€!

Iā€™ve been patiently waiting for you to pop up, good to see you back.
I lost the pics in my other phone, but the Columbian x GDP x GSOG is some of the most flavorful bud Iā€™ve had in a long while. Great job on that one. I grew out 5 of them and 2 made it to flower, 2 males and a slow one got cut. But the 2 that made it to the jars is pleasant smoke. I didnā€™t even have to separate them, they were identical.

Double super duper grape terps I presume? It is quickly becoming a favorite. I would love to see some more flower pics of that one!

I agree the columbian x gdp and duct tape both outstanding smoke.

Definitely grapes, insane grapes, and I didnā€™t even mention the effects of this strain. So Iā€™ll address it now, very old school high, body and heady. After smoking some of that itā€™s funny at first, then droopy eyes and easy street.
@SCJedi my apologies for not photographing more of this from both plants. Hereā€™s a pic of the very last of mine :slightly_frowning_face:

Got a couple more from @SCJedi in veg right now, actually, Iā€™ll post in here soon as they keep getting bigger, among other things this round Iā€™ve got two Nigerian Sunshine x Apollo OP seedlings. Also owe you folks a smoke report on the Blackwater x Apollo and Nigerian Sunshine x Goji. Short version: theyā€™re both very good!

It was a very nice cross, Iā€™ll definitely grow some more of the seeds I still have in the next year. The one Iā€™ve harvested so far was a dwarf, everything else in the mixed strain grow all on the same schedule ended up 3-4ā€™ tall, this one was around two feet. I didnā€™t sufficiently clear out the lowers, so the extreme density of vegetation meant I only harvested an ounce or so of nice tops. However, the lowers, while unformed, were as frosty as any bud, and after sitting for a month in a paper bag I dry sifted it through the screen in my Trim Bin and got a full dispensary eighth jar full of kif, packed in there. Didnā€™t weigh it but it had to be well more than an ounce. Iā€™ve been turbocharging joints with it daily for months and still am not done! The buds themselves after curing are super nice, total head stash, very delicate and friable. The plant I grew seems to have an interesting mix of purps and Apollo going on, itā€™s a calming high without being sedative, and it has a distinct ā€œfeel goodā€ or happy effect. The scent of the bud and flavor of the smoke match pretty well, and are hard to describe, but itā€™s sort of a sweet and smooth incense flavor, like a candied version of the classic Afghani floral incense tone. Or maybe itā€™s if ā€œpurpsā€ was an actual flower scent? Itā€™s tough to put in words, but itā€™s exceedingly pleasant. Good bud, definitely running some more with stricter LST and defoliation.

As to effects, like I said, calm not sleepy, ok for focus, not noticeably good or bad. A good reference point would probably be that I just did a brutal 45 mile, 8500ā€™ of climbing mountain bike race that took twelve hours. I brought Cinderella 99 for sativa, and this was my choice of an indica that would be mood enhancing and help with pain a little without being demotivating or sedative. Worked great.

Just scored some Nigerian Sunshine in a trade, how did it smoke @SCJedi ?

Itā€™s old school. Mostly light sandalwood and other sativa like terpene profiles.

Definitely good daytime smoke if you need to get lifted and stay functional.

Thanks man. It was your pic that made me grab it for a trade. Appreciate the info. I am into old school, brings me back

I just sprouted some Nigerian Sunshine green x Apollo open pollination, after getting nice stuff from the surprise Nigerian Sunshine purple x Goji that came up two grows ago, Iā€™ll post some photos soon. NS definitely seems to put out some nice sandalwood and spicy anise
