the Light is a project I’ve been working on since 2016. The genetics are NL5 (original cut) x Destroyer. It is currently in the f5 gen with a few side project back crosses with my favorite cuttings I’ve found and kept along the way. I have the bc2 gen seeds maturing in said cuttings right now. Here are some pics of the Light
“Redisun” cut
“Modern Age” cut
Redisun bc1 pheno

Oh those cuts are pretty. I remember reading that this line makes amazing full melt. Any chance you have some light hash pictures?
Do the different cuts represent different phenos. Hard to tell some times from pictures. The modern day cut looks a little more nl5 leaning while the redisun maybe more destroyer pheno? Both look amazing! Seems like a great match up of NL5 nugs on a destroyer structure with more wild terps and resins!? I’m only guessing and throwing shit out there.

@Jamescoldflame Thank you!
@Radicle_Reefer The Redisun cut makes the most amazing hash that I’ve ever had. Straight bubble hash melts like rosin. Never experienced that before or since. I’ll break some out and take some pics to share here.
The different cuts are from different generations. It’s actually the opposite, the Modern Age cut is more sativa growing and the smells and high are closer to the Destroyer side. The Redisun cut is amazing, the growth is on a Destroyer frame with fatty NL5 like nugs with some of the more recessive scents of the NL genetics like black pepper, sweet ammonia and onion/garlic funk. I know it from the NL side because I found some similar scents in the NL555 bc2 generation.

@Mrgreenthumb here is some of the NL5 x Destroyer work I was talking about in regards to the sativas. I have some pure sativas going right now, more Destroyer and one called Double Thai that I will make a thread for in the coming weeks as they are just veg plants right now and not much exciting aside from some thin leaf pure sativa action.
The Destroyer is one of the most amazing sativa lines I’ve ever hunted and worked with. The most resin on a pure sativa you’ll ever see! With that said, the Double Thai shares the same father as the Destroyer (Meao Thai) and is also an amazing pure sativa line. My friend who shared the seeds with me shared a tiny old nug and it was a mind blower unlike anything I’ve tried before.

Howdy @Lightviber9, fantastic project you’re working on with absolutely stellar genetics. I like your style and approach with combining the NL5 to quality long flowering types. Your selected plants look very nice. Destroyer makes some potently delicious hybrids that are so very top notch! I haven’t tried Double Thai but it’s one I’m bummed to have missed out on adding it to the collection. Back in the day I didn’t realize the importance to collect when things are available because one day they might not be available for collecting. You’ve got great taste in genetics and great friends. Wishing you an abundance of success with these projects of yours. Many blessings and much love

I bet that NL5x Destryer is some straight
. What kind of smells does she put off? What does she taste like?

@Sbeanonnamellow Thank you and I only try to do my best and hope others can enjoy them. I too missed out on the Double Thai and regretted it when I saw them vanish not long after. I was lucky enough to meet a friend who did the same but with Destroyer and we swapped seeds. I’m doing a nice OP seed increase with both lines, the Destroyer being the best Destroyer plant I’ve ever found back in 2010 as the mother and the fathers were a few males from a pack I got around 2015 and grew out in 2016 (had some amazing phenos but nothing as good as that 2010 cut), and seeds from 3 different phenos of the Double Thai that my friend sent me. I’m also going to cross them both to each other both ways (Destroyer x Double Thai and Double Thai x Destroyer). I can share the new crossings I make but the Double Thais are for my friend as they’re his at this point. I will also be crossing the Double Thai to the NL5 original cut and see what’s to be discovered there.
@Mrgreenthumb It is my favorite creation to date and I never seem to get tired of smoking the various phenos. The f1 Redisun cut has funky nasty sweet ammonia and some onion/garlic scents in the back along with black pepper. The f2 Modern Age cut really really reminds me of the Hogsbreath cutting we used to run in the early 2000s, a nasty funky scent that is quite difficult to describe, not off putting at all but it has these savory tones that I don’t often find. The tastes are like chemical hashy with metallic sweetness. It’s definietly a great one, as what do they say…immitaion is the greatest form or flattery? As JJ from Top Dawg took my genetics and renamed them in a cut he uses in his breeding (he calls it Pineapple Thai but I’ve never come across pineapple scents, he also just decided what the genetics were as my old partner gave him something else entirely) so I guess they’re pretty good eh? haha! I stopped talking with him after he kept trying to lie to others about the genetic lineage, no need to waste time on negativity but the truth i won’t hold back.

Just ordered a pack of The Light-Redisun bc1. Will try and run a couple females starting sometime in August.
