Yes, this is all to familiar.
I remember buying bags in high school that were 80% seeds and stems. ![]()
And a classic

I always liked getting the corner pieces of those bricks.
Being up in Canada mexican brink was never experienced or seen. All the little zip bag I ever encountered looked similar with always having seed in it but always was glossy/shiney held the shape of the bag and the heat from your thigh fused it into a hard brick. This was the late 80s to early 90s. I always will remember that heavy peppery smell or that funky red hair laden bud.
Thanks for the stroll down ole memory lane
Bro yes the 90s weed lmfao that pic brings back good memories
Our steady diet in the Air Force in the late 70s was Columbian brick weed. But we were often fortunate to get Thai stick, AG, and Columbian Gold flown in, at government expense.
I remember in the 2000s when we got our first connection for green brick weed
what a game changer that was. Still sorta fresh and not as many seeds and stems for the same price haha
Same here started out smoking blunts of mexican brick. We ground it in coffee grinders and would roll massive joints and blunts. Redeyed laughing high. Grew some for fun but they wouldnt finish indoors, way too sativa.
I miss the old days, everything was imported or homegrown. I wish i had seeds from back then.
Here in Ny we used to try and pop those brick beans outside they never finished.Tall lanky massive plants really bright green plants with black tinging on the stems ,very lemongrass and fresh cut hay smells.Later as the drug war went on the beans started to pop out some varieties that were smaller and more dense and had quicker flowertimes as the Cartels started making the locals grow Amsterdam varieties and hybrids for faster return profits.I got some of those beans again from a member on here years ago from some brick that ended up going almost 16 weeks and grew some nice spears that was made up of almost all red hair like this classic seeds mexican redhair bud .The strains back then seemed alot more Fuzzier and had wicked woody stems
I saw it and experienced it in Canada in the early 70s. As well as bricked weed from other country’s.
Just saying. ![]()
Yep, same here. Cut my teeth on Mexi brick. I’ll never forget this one time, I was like the middle-middle man for a group buy on some bammer, we were all hanging out at a dugout at a baseball field, & a buddy gave me his plug to get for everyone. I didn’t check the bag, just made the excahnge, & when we opened it there were fucking BIRD FEATHERS pressed into the weed
everyone blamed me for it & I tried to deflect & say “it’s not my plug, I didn’t even make the call I just made the exhange” BUT, I didn’t check the bag so it ultimately fell on me ![]()
Another time we got some brick with salt crystals pressed into it, presumably to mask smell or to make it look like THC crystals, lol
A touch before my time
so would have to believe it was here. I grew up along the Yellowhead hwy on the interior of BC so we saw a flux of quality flower.
You youngsters have had it made from the start. Lucky sons’a guns, lol
Without the old heads paving the way we would have never had this exposure
Can confirm. Central Ontario was a lot of hash through Montreal and the herb was 90% brick weed, through the 80s for me. Occasionally we’d get jamacian oil after a holiday, straight from buddys gut, just had to squeeze it out of the balloons. ![]()
Did you ever get those bricks that came packed in 1 gallon soup base cans @Floyd ? Apparently from Jamaica. We saw a bunch in my area way back then.
I say the opposite, i’m thankful i lived in the illegal days and experienced imported landraces, Skunk/G13 and miss those days dearly.
Oh we got those too
But a zip of bammer was like 30us, and the Skunks & “premium” stuffs were 50/eighth or more, very pricey for a broke teen
I’ll never forget that, too, my first sack of “greenbud”, paid 60 for a pinched eighth but ONE BOWL of it laid me the F out. It was some really nice OG type (in hindsight) from out of the SF Bay Area
Cant remember getting anything in soup cans. But bricked weed from Jamaica yes. Also from Columbia. Lots of oil from Jamaica at one point. Hash from all over in the early 70s. Later gold seal black hash that I believe came through Montreal.
Well acquainted with the “red wrap” Whenever I get a chance to try true Afghani import, it brings on the old memories. Smells like highschool to me.
