The one that got away

We’ve all been there. We had a plant that we should have taken a clone of, but did not and now regret it. This was mine. A simple pollen chuck. Seedsman HP x Spice bros. C99 F2. This shit made you stupid. 1 bong hit and your eyes would involuntarily close about the time you coughed it out. Had more than one person accuse me of lacing the weed with something. I kick myself daily for not taking a clone, but I did not expect it to be so potent.

I got home from work, rolled a joint, and an hour later I realize there is a half a joint stuck to my lower lip, there is a pile of ashes on my chest, and I’m staring at a TV that is not even on…

Sounds exciting. I like some C99. It is a good strain.
I like it when it does that.

So where do you go from here, do you have the original F1’s you found her in?

I got a helluva a good plant on my first seed from that pack. I wrote it off at the time as being too small and let it go. Then I smoked some…big mistake I made, lol.

Nope. It was my first pollen chuck and I really didn’t expect much. Seedsman does not sell that HP line anymore (advertised as an F1 of HP cutting x NL#1) and the C99 was a lone male from a pack of Spice Bothers C99 F2. I’ve contemplated trying to recreate it, but I don’t think that I’ll ever find that magic again.

first time i got high (not smoked weed, but got high on it) i was watching NFL on TV and sat on edge of couch staring at TV w/half of a joint in my hand and i realized, "FUCK, I"M STONED!) I never looked back until they legalized it, hybridized it and now it’s all mids. I forgot to mention that the year was 1968.

Damn, spice brothers. That’s a blast from the past!
They actually had some pretty good seeds for what they were (mostly reproductions). Me and my buddy ran their black spice for years. We grew out a bunch of their strains. We got a really good deal on a bunch of packs of their seeds and spent like a year growing out all the packs. Found some really nice keepers in their gear.

Ooooh that sounds so nice  . I have a rks that has 5 phenos one of them is a grape and another one is a coco coffee skunk (my favorite pheno) but i could see if mixing the 2 for a couple gens just might give you what you seek

This one.

I lost her 3 times. And the last time I’ve not been able to get her back, I haven’t asked the one person that might still have her because I’ve been in a funk and everything died, twice. I’m not even sure if she has her still

Bugs always seem drawn to those real sweet plants huh? Sometimes I keep a sweet girl in the corner as a canary haha. Fighting thrips now… I will win this time.

Swamp is in the deep freeze at the moment - but if all goes as planned I should be running another couple hoop houses to do a bit more chasing of my tail next summer. Spring around the corner now. :call_me_hand:

I did have a couple get away from me last season actually - lucky for me, I had dusted her lowers, was my favorite plant of the season - I would have revegged her had I known at the right time how killer her smoke would be.

I am still holding one tiny nugget from that jar - waiting for my birthday. Haha.

Seems there is one that gets away from me every cycle. Should probably consider upping my cuts game.

How did you do on the PM and Botrytis? Was it a Clean run or did any issues pop up?

Completely clean run. First season I had one plant in the swamp with bud rot - which I quickly mitigated.

50 girls this summer zero PM or anything of the like - bud was clean smoke too. I like to go over lots of it with a ‘fine tooth comb’.

Lots of the finished plants and cured bud are posted up on the swamp giveaway thread. No bug issues outdoors either. Seems they only get me indoors when there are not other bugs to keep them in check.

All kinds of veribles but in general outside plants are most of the time tuffer especially grown in the ground they get all the benefits of native species above ground and soil borne along with all kinds of probiotics and facultative anarobes assuming a real swamp possibly even guerilla style
