The ongoing indoor grow

It is time for this weeks update. This weeks theme will be the good, the bad, and the ugly.

The Good:
I am happy that I gave the Planet of the Grapes an extra week to veg. She is looking very good and started to put hairs out a few days ago.

The Bad:
It is now 15 weeks since I started the Cherry Glue and Cognac OG. With both plant starting to form colas 6 weeks ago now. So this could still go on for another couple of weeks. Both plants have buds everywhere on them, but they are all popcorn sized buds. If the buds from these plants do not get me stoned stupid I am not planning to do anything more with them and call it a dead end project.

Finally The Ugly:
The South Florida OG is currently not really impressing me. About two weeks old and it was already needing a dose of nutes. This strain was used by its breeder in his Tampa Crippy strain and I am seeing a lot of similarities with the two. I am hoping to see something in the next few weeks to change my mind on this one.

Did you have to leave the Cherry Glue and Cognac OG on 12/12, or were you able to switch back to a longer light cycle?

I have left them on 12/12 since I made that flip.

Time for another weekly update, and I have some news…
I transferred the South Florida OG into its growing container a couple of days ago and I am starting to get a feel for why it is behaving as it is. My new apartment is on the sunny side of the building so it gets a little warmer in here compared to my old apartment. So I am thinking that is having an effect on the plant. Only thing I can do is open up a side flap to let in some more air and give it a little extra water. Right now the South Florida is looking rough, but still growing.

In the main tent the Planet of the Grapes started cola formation 4-5 days ago so in about 9 weeks she will be coming down. The Cherry Glue and Cognac OG are now on week who the hell can remember now. I am just waiting for them to be ready to come down. The colas are small, but I will say they are dense buds. However I am not looking forward to trim jail with both plants when the time comes.

Finally I just ordered a new light for my main tent. My current lights, a pair of HLG 100 V2 are good and all but I am getting to the point I can not grow the way I want anymore with the lighting setup as is. I really wanted a HLG 300L Rspec, but I do not want to spend around $400 on that light. I have been looking at other lights and found something in my price range that while not as good as a light as the HLG 300L, it is a upgrade from my HLG 100 V2 lights. What I got was a Mars Hydro TSL 2000 for $170 plus tax. Looks like a decent light and was made to fit a 2X4 tent and has a dimmer, so I am happy with it. I should have in by the end of the week.

This weeks theme is you win some, you lose some…
My new light showed up a few days ago and I finally got around to putting it in.
Before

After

So long as it works it is a nice upgrade from the lights I was using.

Cognac OG

Cherry Glue
I would like to think another week or two and those two should be ready. The Planet of the Grapes is currently getting its stretch on and looking good.

I made the call a few days ago to pull the plug on the South Florida OG. I was not happy how it was doing. All the leafs even the ones that were forming were browning out. I am going to chalk it up to bad genetics. I got something getting ready to hit a solo cup of soil here soon and hope to be able to show it off next week.

Well it has been a week now since I started using my new light and so far I am happy with what I got. The tent looks brighter and is not as hot since I am using just one light now instead of two. All the plants in the tent are liking it as well.
I am very close to cutting down the Cherry Glue, I just want some more amber to form before I make the call. The colas are taking on a purple hue since I changed lights I think the dimmer on the light is making a lot of the difference .

The Cognac OG still needs some more time, so not looking forward to trim jail on this plant.

The Planet of the Grapes is forming buds all over and looking very good. Another 6-7 weeks and she will be done.

Once the tent is clear I will do my next seed run. I am not sure with one I will do yet…Royal Procession or Coastal Crippy.
Finally with the South Florida OG now converting itself into compost at the city landfill. I have something else in the second tent I can show off now that it is big enough. It is a Bam`nana Pudding Photo Fem.

Well this week has been a good week…
The Cherry Glue came down a few days ago and it is already dried out and in jars curing. Happy to finally get this one down and out of the tent.

The Cognac OG is starting to get its flush on in its leafs. Still not ready to come down maybe next week.

The Planet of the Grapes is doing fine and is firmly in cruse control. She is about half way through flowering. I am ready to get this tent cleared out for my next seed run.

Finally the Bam`nana Pudding is looking really good for two weeks old. I will be transplanting her into her growing container in the next few days.

The new light is helping, but it does not hurt that I just got a new(er) phone and it has a much better camera on it.

Been another good week for the plants with not much going on.
I moved the Bama`nana Pudding into its growing container four days ago and she has started to take off. Not to shabby for two week now.

In the main tent the Cognac OG is still going and her flush is very pronounced. She is very cloudy under the loupe. But not enough amber is seen to make me want to cut her down yet. Maybe next week.
The Planet of the Grapes is looking very good and already has a very strong grape like smell coming from the buds. Looking at another 5-6 weeks until she is ready to come down.

Well I just got an email from the front office…
It seems I will be having pest control coming to visit my building on Wednesday. So I need to get everything torn down to be ready for that. :triumph:

That sucks brother @darkillusion. Best of luck on the cleanup!

I should be fine, The Bama`nana Pudding is small enough to hide. The other two I might just put into a box and leave them out on my patio.

Man they really don’t like leaving you alone !
Didn’t they have to come inspect something before too !?

I hope you get everything safely cleared up.

Sending you good vibes brother

Before was for inspections. This time is for pest control. It sucks but that is just how it is.

How long do you have to be out for?

I don’t know if this will work for you, or if it’s worth it to you to try

When I lived in an apartment I paid the extra amount to have a dog. Every time I had an inspection or pest control I shut the door to the grow and put a note on the door saying that the dog was inside. I never had a problem

It will just be for the day. I already have the tents taken down.
The Bama`nana Pudding is still small enough to fit under my bed so that is were it will be until this time tomorrow. The Planet of the grapes is in a box on my patio with some beach towels draped over it. I decided to cut the Cognac OG down and she is in a paper bag next to the Planet of the Grapes. I do not see any reason for pest control to spray a second floor patio deck. Even if they do go on my deck they have zero permission to touch let alone move any of my property.

I am not home enough to be able to properly care for a dog and the costs to keep it would be to high for me. Also they make it very clear that they want full access to the apartments. Here is a part of the email I got stating that…
“Please make sure that we can access all areas of your apartment, including closets, baseboards, and under sinks.” So it sounds like they had a few people complain about cockroaches in my building and the next one over. I know my old apartment that I just moved out of had a bit of a roach and ant problem I was taking care of myself just to keep the pest control people away

Well I have been home for an hour now and just finished setting back up tents for the plants. Everything went fine and both plants are doing well enough.
