Thoughts on this HPS bulb replacement

So I was looking up HPS bulbs on Amazon because I know mine is getting old and will need a new one soon and ran across this and I am wondering if anybody has any opinions on this? If I was to get this, do you think it would be better than a regular HPS bulb? It’s a 250 w HPS but then it says this led is 100 w so I don’t know just looking for some input on this. Thank you

Nah…

Buy a 250w HPS bulb for like ~$15…

I love LED growing.
However, I’d go back to a HID bulb, myself.
BUT, for that cheap of a price, why not give one a go to see how it does through a cycle.
Good luck!!

That bulb doesn’t fire off a hps ballast btw, just uses the same size socket. If you want to run a grow w/ led’s there are good options under $100 for small footprints.

That’s not HPS it’s one of those corn cob LEDs… I used to test grow lights for Amazon and they are better as a supplementary light. You can stick them in the middle of the canopy and pretty much modern CFL

I dunno if its just me, but when I saw those purple things I tend to avoid :X

I just dont run hps anymore because of the heat/no ac unit/live in brazil

E39 base is the old mogul base (not common). The standard size we are familiar with is an E26 base.
(E= Edison, 26= 26mm)
The price is great but as @Headies12green said :arrow_heading_up: best for supplementary lighting.

Though the blurple is quite ‘retro’ now.

Cheers
