Tinytuttle's Grow Chronicles 2019

There’s leaves and debris from my neighbors tree which is at the front of the house that ended up in the back yard ! Heavy winds also accompanied this storm! Had I not trellised these I’d have broken branches for sure!

So all things considered the trees, plants, flowers ,did fairly well count my self lucky ! My wheelbarrow full of worm casting turned into a sloppy muck so most of it went straight into the beds, should make for excellent results going into flower! Had I lived 3/4 mile further east it would a totally different story! Now for the good news! So I dude in the bad hit area had this anti-hail netting and it saved everything in his raised beds my guess everyone else around I Was leveled .

I be used hardware cloth but this seems much better Imo

Soaking some logs for some mushroom popping and extra CO2 for the girls hopefully may be a bit late going to try anyways!

Going to lay these under the canopy an keep them moist over the next months

Last years branch by comparison!

I wanted to do something fun like make an cannabis antler shed but using last years and this years will be a little lopsided IMO!

Help me understand as I so badly want to do this. You soak logs, keep moist, then do you spray spores on it at some point, what next?

If you look close enough there are drilled holes that were stuffed with an inoculated dowels that had mycelium growing on them pretty easy the ones I got to grow were oyster mushrooms shiitake never did produce for me but I could tell all were inoculated due to the discoloring on the ends of the logs.

Thanks! @Tinytuttle. You soaking them in plain water? When you say “inoculated dowels”…does dowel size matter? How to inoculate these dowels? Am I asking too many questions? Is there a thread? Thanks brother

This @oleskool830 website is a great place to get started involving mushrooms I have one or two of his books Paul Staments is another one that got my going down the pathway to becoming organic! Fungi play a Hugh role that a lot of people aren’t even aware of.

The easiest way is to buy the dowels with mycelium all ready on them but doing it yourself takes a little know how but not hard iv grown mushrooms on cardboard by just taking clean cuts from a mushroom cap and layering between wet cardboard pieces

But yes they are soaking in the rain barrels to help get them activated again
