So first time running my HLG 320 rspec FR in a 2x4, it is so hot, if i run it any higher than 40% my tent is over 85f. Its not the driver but the actual lights. I have to run my fan pretty high just to keep it below 80f. My house is 72f. And tips? I might go back to my 2 mars hydro ts1000 lights that would run way cooler.

I keep a fan on the lights I have. The exhaust filter is near it. Open your tent up.

Do you have adequate input air?
A 6" fan shouldn’t have any problem controlling the heat from 320w in a 2x4. I have a 4" fan with 350w hlg in a 3x5 and the temps are never above 70

For a 2x4 yes. Do you have a six in blowing in? To equal the pressure.

So i thought 90 was too high. I feel better now. I have a 6” intake.

Im pulling air from the bottom of the tent, out the top with the 6” inline though a carbon filter

No its negative pressure on the tent because the tent is pulled in on the sides.

Does FR mean far red in the model of your light?

Do you just recycle air inside a room? Vent it outside if you can.

Its a bedroom, i leave the door open to the whole house. I could vent out a window if needed. My last house i vented to the attic but had different lights too.

My led light heats up my 4x4 as well.
But only at full power. Temp gets up in the high 80s. Higher exhaust fan speed is my only option as i dont have AC in the room. I only run my tent in the winter so that helps too.

When I recirculate air into my lung room it can hit 82F+ midday (lights on during the day), and the tent will be 3F+ over that and I cant lower it. When its vented outside, the lung room sits at ~73F (house ambient) and I get a lot of control over the tent temp with the exhaust fan.
Not much you can do except; increase exhaust, decrease intake temps, get an A/C.
