Yes, absolutely. All of my in the ground plants did. Major fade! Can’t flush those! lol
Growing DWC I very rarely exceed 1.4EC and I lower the feed to 0.8EC for the last 2 weeks. Or whenever nutrient levels starts to increase in my system. Which is usually 2-3 weeks left.
I have gotten less desirable results flushing vs not. Good enough evidence for me.
Of growing in hydro or coco, maybe flush for a few days. I use to, and still grow in soil, so no flush. I use to Maybe skip the last feeding Or just water for a week before harvest. This time around, I’m using mostly dry amendments and top dressing, so just water anyway. Though I do have fish emulsion and some dyna-gro fertilizers on hand if needed.
Never. Just harvest in the dark. Like 60% goes to the roots.
I haven’t noticed any difference between flushing or not. For clarity though… I grow in soil only.
Here’s a nicely designed study looking at the outcome of various pre-harvest pure-water flushing regimes.
The experimental design is impressive and it appears to be rigorously implemented. The results are clearly presented and, at least to me, fairly compelling.
SPOILER ALERT: Not much benefit to pre-harvest flushing.
No doubt the controversy will continue but this is a nice milestone along the way. A hat tip to @Franklin on GWE for the reference.

In a first of its kind study, Rx Green Technologies evaluated the effects of flushing period on yield, potency, terpenes, mineral content, and taste characteristics of Cannabis flower. Overall, the length of the flushing period did not impact yield, potency, terpenes, or taste characteristics of Cannabis flower. Taste test results indicated a trend toward improved flavor and smoke quality with the zero-day flush. While there were no significant differences in nutrient content, there was a trend toward increased iron and zinc in flower flushed for 14 days. The results of this trial indicate that there is no benefit to flushing Cannabis flower for improved taste or consumer experience.
In hobby settings there is ALWAYS controversy over topics where more than one things works. Flush or don’t. Not even a cannabis sommelier could guess better than 50/50.
And mad respect to you for posting but these results are…inconclusive:
It’s also such a broad brush, “flush or don’t flush”… what about dropping Nitrogen completely, or halving it, while keeping K high? That’s a fast metabolism with no new protein backbone so she’ll senesce quicker. I couldn’t even guess if this would increase or decrease cannabinoids, terps, etc. I feel like these “studies” are just marketing.

I do flush !!- there is a very good article in Cannabis Maximum Yield , which "leans"toward flushing. Will take a second look at article and reference it. Have even did a No “n” in flower Remember once I really “pushed” feeding and didn’t do no flushing and the end results was very poor. very harsh smoke. This debate has been goimg on for years and years good rule of thumb: if you use chemicals a flush is needed and if growing organic one can flush or not flush. Basicly it all depends on what you feed your plants, But if you do flush remember to use some type of feeding while flushing because you can “starve” your plants when flushing during flush I use a product called “Fish Shit” to hekp with up-take and cleaning ( could even use Hydrozine during flush for your root system or SFL-100 if you use chemical nutes)
I don’t flush nor do reservoir change, I keep it very simple…giving it a proper cure is the most important thing to achieve in having some kick ass budz to smoke.
I feel gypsum flush is not a bad thing to do anytime during your grow.
This works to rebalance CEC in the soil/medium.
Also unless you are using at least twice the amount of water compared to the volume of soil in the pot, nothing is really being flushed out of the soil.
So anything less is not really a flush in my opinion anyway.
To feed only water is more of a starvation technique, if you ask me that is…
I will feed only water for the last week if I feel like it, not something I stick to or feel is super important.
So in a way, I guess I do flush/ feed only water for the last week.
I only do it becauseI feel the plant needs very little or no ferts in the last week of life.
I feel 2 weeks is too much unless you have overfed in the past.
Flushings for toilets
I will limit the water sometimes. But I don’t flush.
I don’t flush but I dilute the feed in the reservoir from the last refill till finished
Any soil bags I don’t flush
No flush here
No flush here I just cut back on feed the last couple weeks.
No flush here, but I’m all organic w/soil. I actually used Advanced Nutrients “Overdrive” product on my last grow, inside. It’s supposed to be used alone in the last two weeks of flower. I felt like I did get extra growth to the buds, so that would be the opposite of flushing. I plan on trying it again on my indoor stuff.
I didn’t use it outside on my summer grow, but they didn’t need anything.
The study concludes that flushing does not lower yield, quality, nor flavor so I see no negatives… less nutes cost less money and create less waste. All I know is that unflushed weed makes me, my girlfriend, and multiple personal friends break out with zits and pimples and makes our lungs phlegmmy after only smoking a quarter. This has been noticed and acknowledged as being obvious to -us- since the late 90’s when I struggled against people telling me my weed was harsh and tasted like chemicals despite having had a full month-long cure in a perfect curing environment. To me, unflushed weed definitely has more flavor: many chemical profiles have a sweet or minerally flavor to them which seems to add to the flavor profile and all weed that is flushed as long as I like it tastes like dirt/earth which is sort of bland but - in its own way-- quite delicious too. My main observation, having grown hydro over 35 years, is that I can cut and dry my 19-day flushed weed and people who smoke it tell me it is perfectly cured despite it not having been cured at all. Branches that I cut at different states of flushing show visually (less flush leads to darker, flatter color profiles), via smell (more odor in unflushed), and via quality (definitely harsher if less flushed). So it is fine if people want to possibly leave excess chemicals in their plants, but flushing definitely changes something and everyone I hook up has noted, and prefers, the flushed weed over unflushed. I started growing my own because – even though I can buy pounds of indoor for 900-1200 a pound, it isn’t flushed to my liking and my Girl and I can’t smoke it…it makes us hack and break out in acne. So call it what you want to, but I will continue to flush my personal headstash.
I micro flush throughout my grow with molasses and bushdoctor sledgehammer. I don’t flush massive amounts of water. I just ad my supplement to a microdose of nutes with normal microbe supplements in order to preserve my microbe build-up in my coco
your right brother, I don’t let off the gas. I just micro flush throughout my grow @Esrgood4u
I feel we should also talk about osmotic pressure…
Sugar flush
