Is it even real? Has there ever been an actual confirmed case in cannabis plants? As far as I know it’s never happened.
There’s so much talk about it and everyone starts sweating as soon as they see variegation but is it an actual threat? I know it’s a real virus that has attacked tobacco and other crops.
But is there anyone out there who has had an actual lab-documented and verified infection in cannabis? If not, can we officially call this one a myth and an urban legend?
It has not been found naturaly in cannabis as far as I know but has been shown to be affected by it in controlled settings.
The issue is that what most are witnessing is a different issue like hemp latent viroid or beet curly top virus , there are a ton of fungal, bacterial and viral issues that can spread to cannabis and most growers have little actual agricultural farming experience .
I watched a very popular breeder share pics of watermelon ring spot virus claiming it to be some rare varigated plant , when in reality is was sick and should have been burned.
I suspect alot of it is being transmitted by reusing pots and recycling dirt from infected plants. Some of those diseases are transmitted and spread through infected root systems.
Its real, but for cannabis its just a Boogey Man, nothing to ever worry about. There are a whole pile of viruses and even worse viroids to worry about, but TMV is not one.
It’s real, i believed the outbreak was caused by farms growing tobacco with their weed plants for pest control. My friend has tobacco banned in his grow areas.
