In ground is impressive I’d do the leaf blower provision now even if ya don’t use it . You might find unless your fire is huge it could be short of air and tough to keep burning depending how deep your pit is.

That’s what I was thinking, and then in my head I came to the conclusion it’s not meant for the type of fires I’m used to lol. Where’s the side draft come from in that picture?

@HighTilliDie , have you considered adding a few pipes that lead out from the base of the pit into the side of the yard? the fire will pull air in from these pipes to feed it O2. Much less smoke and a cleaner burn.

I was just watching a show about the super deep hole, it’s crazy when they put it into perspective that it’s basically nothing in comparison to the actual depth. Really makes you wonder what is down there.

Funny you say that because I tried to put a garden by the back porch and dug into a dog’s ribcage that someone gave a very shallow grave and it was a big dog.
