So even if my dogs don’t come near your dog or interact with you at all it’s a problem for your puppy? I’m talking like 300 feet between us?
When I see people who are stupid with their dogs. Any animal really. I hope they don’t have kids.
I agree with that. Studies should a direct relationship between child abuse and animal abuse
She gets nervous, but not so much that she wouldn’t walk around with us. The issue is those that truely believe their dog can/will do no harm.
These are the same people that yell at you for saying anything about their animal handling or how you would like them to go about yours.
I’ve heard yelled at me: “MY DOG WOULD NEVER HURT YOUR DOG YOU’RE JUST BEING AN ASSHOLE!” for picking up my dog who WOULD HAVE BITTEN their off leash dog who is 5x my dogs size pushing all up into her personal space and ignoring her growling…
These same people end up pulling their dog off another dog that decided to start the fight I didn’t let Celia start.
She’s a rescue from Texas and one concern is that she was milled to die in a dog fight… she’s solid muscle but isn’t large enough to win a fight with a full pitbull.
Same… in Toronto the driving is so bad I really wish I never saw those 4 different dogs die from hit and runs… all preventable because the owners had their leads IN THEIR HANDS… but they “knew better” and let their dogs off them and now they are dead and I’m traumatized.
I never want to hear that sound ever again… or the human’s sobbing wails as they realize this is all their fault.
I’m very aware with my dogs and how they interact with others.
My oldest one we got at the beginning of COVID. It really created a problem for us in socializing her. No one would come within 6-10 feet personally or let the dogs interact. I have a 50/50 chance that she will get into a fight with other dogs and people.
The young one is more socialized and isn’t aggressive like that.
I ran into a lot of people and pit bull in the city who were exactly like your describing. It does create an uncomfortable situation.
I had Willie the Beagle. Beagles, hounds in general are kinda dumb. They can all do one thing good, which is find stuff. Drugs. Dead people. Live people. Willie would have run in front of me for food. Anything that ever touched food, like a napkin. He’s gone.
I had toddler gates in my house for him!
We have those for Celia.
She’s a brick, and once ran the gate right down when she panicked!
My buddy had a Blue-tick Coonhound. About 90 #s. Showed me a hole in his fence. Dog eared redwood. A coon went over the fence. Dog right thru it.
is that one of those naughty sausage dogs mini Dachshund
@thainer YEP!
Best we can tell is Celia is part Dachshund and the other part is either Bulldog or Patterdale Terrier.
the wife has one as well lil 8 pound shit weasel they do love to strut then bolt
So Tom and Jerry isn’t all a lie, more like a pre historic documentary about animal behaviour it seems
Also not try to shameless plug anything but also just a heads up Tony g for his 4:20 gig this year is supposedly 15 packs for 210 shipped. Just putting that out here for folks . Cauuussee that’s insane.
Counter Karen culture. Karen a Karen.
So confusing. Really find myself shaking my head a lot these days
My mom taught me the same thing. Granted, it was about eating my grandmother’s fish sticks so it didn’t entirely apply to that situation, but she told me this story.
She used to tutor, as she’s a retired teacher. This was when she was young. She said she was helping tutor a child or two when dinner time came up. What was for dinner?
Fried bologna
Now, my mom is telling me, she hates fried bologna. It’s gross stuff. But she ate it with a smile because she knew she was being offered all that family could afford. She told me that not everybody gets to choose what to eat.
I still ain’t eat my grandmother’s fish sticks but that was a good lesson.
A lot of people who live rural or in faming communities really can’t afford much. So thats why she was telling me.
@leetdood
I don’t go out of my way to do it often but when a coon gets too bold around the place, I’ll set some live traps and we will be having stew or roasted coon. I don’t tolerate predators around my poultry. I love some good slow baked racoon too so… I won’t say that I’ll eat anything I’ll kill because I’ll draw the line at possum. I’ll eat a snake before I eat a possum. I mean… I’d eat it to survive but only just. lol
I use to have the foxfire book that showed the proper way to prepare opposum and musk rat to make it edible.
I once asked this old man from Arkansas, that I worked with, if he ate possum, and he said they like to get into fresh graves, so that was a hard no.
Dad and Mom grew up in the hills of West Virginia during the great depression. Mom had 7 brothers and sisters. They lived on moonshine money, what they grew and what they hunted (which was whatever moved). They ate possum many times. Dad said it’s good if you boil the grease out before roasting on low heat for a good long while.
I still say no thank you on the ROUS.
