TrevorLahey's Low Budget Growing Part 5: "The Ghost and the Darkness"

@Shadey the new batch are 100% Dark Spark ATM phenos. Some variability in these seeds but have grown some gems.

@Meesh Both of the Dark Sparks I ran this round wanted to “broom out” but it’s like the light was so intense that it was kinda half broom, half bud if that makes any sense. These huge airy puffy buds are awesome you get way better trich coverage and about the same yield as you would growing ones with smaller, tighter buds.

The one I got to grow out that wasn’t a total mutant was like that.

Chopped the Dark Spark green pheno at day 56! It really smells like the classic Juicy Fruit gum(the yellow package) and wow is she frosty!

So dark it’s almost black, I really like this photo

Thanks as always @Mr.Sparkle for keeping them fruity aromas in my grow all year round! Always a pleasure growing these out.

They look great  Trev you certainly turned that grow around, just think how nice and fat they would have been if you didn’t have the problems at the start.

Hey Trevor, what temp did you use on the bridgelux light you built?

He used 3000k like most are using me included.

I used the 3500K* strips. They have the better spectrum for growing.

Were they 3500K ? I will have to check my receipt, I want some more I was just about to go on and order some more.

Day 4

Ever since the last fuckup, and the lack of knowing why, I feel like I’m learning everything for the first time again. These are in washed Coco-coir and so far have only been watered once with pH 5.8 tap water right before being planted initially.

Well they don’t look sickly at all :mask:

I put my 4 Caramel Candy kush in paper towel today, 2 have cracked over night, hoping for 1 girl out of 4 seeds, at least I can make clones if I get one.

Also checked out the Bridgelux strips they have 30 in stock atm I want another 17 I think, I have 1 spare, 4 for my clone cab I think that would be enough, and the rest for 2 2x2 ft frames of 7 each for the veg tent. What driver did you use for your 2x2 frames Trev?

I used a 150w driver for my 2x2 frames. It’s overkill, really, especially if you’re only looking to veg I would think 20-25w per square foot would suffice. So in those terms a 100w driver would cover a 2x2 space for veg.

Cool thanks for the info, I have just started going through Mr sparkles thread trying to work out stuff lol. He has a 100W XLG model at the beginning so I will try and track that down on digikey. Do you know off the top of your head, the max amount of strips a 100W will run?

Of the 2 foot strips, you can run 6 minimum but I think 7 would be best as it puts you in that 14-15w per strip range that a few of us are running with currently.
