I have this little cutie that was smaller that the others? Is this something i should remove from my tent? Seems like its growing and developing, but i heard it could be a virus.
It looks fine to me.
Oh sorry, posted the wrong image. Here you can see how it looked at the beginning. It was the smallest plant of all.
It is possible, the only way to tell for sure is to have it tested.Personally if i’m second guessing the health of a plant i’m scrapping it. Best off safe then possibly sorry.
It doesn’t look concerning to me from what i can tell, i would consider getting it tested to be safe. Some plants deal with it better then others, you may not really be able to tell for sure until flowering.
Yes I wouldn’t worry about it. If I had to guess it was an early mutant that took some time to grow out of it and should now be just fine.
Its being a runt doing what runts do Runting.Looks pretty healthy let it do its thing and should be A Okay.Sometimes they grow out of that and catch up in due time.Dont ever toss a runt out. They are going to be some of your best plants you will see.Dont ever underestimate the little guy
I have noticed them to be more mold resistant.
Interestingly enough, under the microscope the virus makes the trichomes of the plant look liked a stepped on soccer ball. Once you see it, it can’t be unseen.
Search “overlapping leaves” or witches broom hlvd symptoms.
I dont see any of this in those pics.
Just for your own piece of mind.

All my runts are always louder than any of my big plants. Some of them are jampacked with turps i was doing some reading and thier may be some merit to some terpines giving some plants an edge in keeping molds away.I think my JackHerer Plant is a prime example as was my Jacks cleaner i had from subcools shit. The Jacks cleaner especially that plant reeked of terpinoline so bad people get sick just smelling it today.I had them plants laying in plants around them that were covered in thick downy white piles of PM and none of the Jack plants got it.Im telling you if its got that Strong Lemon Mr Clean smell that peels your nose hairs back its probably gonna be kickass against molds.
I have noticed the same, had eq orange butter that was agent orange x peanut butter breath that was very resistant. I can’t afford why thing that isn’t extremely mold resistant due to being by the water so the humidity is usually 60%+. Literally only the best of the best has a chance without rotting away.
Thanks for the replies i will keep an eye on it. But i feel a little consoled.
Wouldn’t be the first timethe smallest will have the biggest buds:) The convenient thing is, it topped itself / it came out with 3 mainbuds. I am curious how it will end up looking.
And i will share some pics!
Notso dog made an argument that plants only produce a certain amount of terps and cannabinoids . His argument that bigger plants have more bio mass only and contain the same amount of cannabinoids terps ect only with more bio mass. Another argument he made was the best bud are generally not the top colas. The shaded underside buds would have more flavor and effects not being affected by direct light. I do agree with his argument’s in my experience it holds true… Cheers !!!
Edit- Save the little guys lol !!!
Seems the ideal way for dark powers to destroy weed cultivation by sabotaging seedstock.
This Afghani is murder for such trains of thought…
That dude, and a whole bunch of other dudes in cannabis have a lot of thoughts like that. Weed, dudes, and science, like a pBj and sardine sandwich.
So here’s my sandwich to add to the compendium of bro-science. In the tea world, in particular with Japanese green teas, shading is known to increase aroma, richness, umami, terpenes. So, there may absolutely be something to his claims, and it may not be for the reasons we think. In fact, what I just mentioned supports his claims pretty well.
My argument, or I think one factor… terpenes are pretty volatile, some are known to evaporate pretty quickly in fairly low temps. Those big chunky top buds may look great, but it’s quite possible that the heat and expose to LEDs and higher temps and certain wavelengths of light. I bet something like UVB could be especially disruptive. While I downplay them usually as being violet and low nano meter more than UV, they can do damage. They will eat through plastic shields over time, so I’d suspect they’re not kind to delicate organic compounds like terpenes. Buds that get too close to a light are pretty pretty grassy/hay like IME.
In short, maybe that runt is just terpy because it’s shadier down there, or it has more nutrients available, or not discernible reason at all.
It’s often shocking how different the same damn plant can be totally different, even if it’s a clone in the same pot and same environment. At this very moment I’ve got two papaya clones that were rooted in one root plug, one is about 18” the other has been multi topped, trimmed, held back and is now about 65” tall and near the lights. I’ll get buds from both tested for Terpenes and we’ll see what my friends’ fancy terpene machine has to say
On the other hand an outdoor plant will produce more leaf around the tops. Because of the huge light advantage by sunshine. Temperatures and light are the deciding factor outdoors.
I’d second notso with this. I grew the same seed strain two years in a row. The first year unlimited water and sun. Huge buds tested at about 24 % thc. Second year unlimited sun, but less water. The results were smaller buds, yield however it tested 30+% thc
