I think that’s absolutely cool. It’s called having a big heart. And, the world can use more big hearted people!
I’m getting ready to find some flower seeds. Your stuff is making me jealous. But, we are already in a major drought. We’ll need lots of rain soon to change spring. We already had some freezes after a lot of stuff bloomed. I’m just going to roll with what’s here unless it changes.
Hey those pink Glads are electric. I don’t remember seeing those in pink. They really have super full color. Nice job!
They are pretty fabulous and showy as hell! This is the 2nd year with them. I got them in like a super bag from Michigan Bulb. They are assorted colors. Stay tuned, a bunch more have spikes, Looks like a purple one will be next. I remember that some are multi-colored. They do really well here.
Having some fun today. Made a new planter with an easter basket. Sewed a contractor trash bag inside with fishing line and cut some holes in the bottom for drainage
I couldn’t help myself and ordered a peppermint scented geranium since I love my rose scented ones so much. The peppermint one has white flowers and is a part sun variety so it’s going in the ground where the shade garden graduates into sun. One of the new rose ones is already getting huge with tons of flowers. At night the leaves are the most fragrant, I rubbed one last night on the way to the backyard with Jezebel and when I came back it had literally filled the entire house with the smell of roses. It was divine! I knew there was a reason that I kept one of them by my back door. The peppermint one showed tonight and is really fragrant too! Smelled candy canes as soon as I opened the box. I ordered this one from the same lady in Santa Cruz I bought the others. She sends great plants and fast. Since I’m also in Cali, it came in 2 days.
Other excitement in the garden, the white lavender that I started from seed last year is forming it’s first flowers! Unfortunately, the caterpillars like them too. Picked a big one off that was devouring one of the forming buds. Grrr… Lavender is one of the hardest seeds that I’ve ever germed outdoors. A total bitch, I had 2 plants and one died last year. Hopefully the bugs don’t get them all so I can see my Lacy Frills Lavender flowers. I’ve never seen white lavender before.
New additions… so you know I’m not a big succulent fan, except for the trailing varieties. Found this donkeys tail yesterday. These are rad. Get long trails with neon red flowers on the ends
Ordered these 2 rooted cuttings on etsy . Hearts on a string. Rare variegated variety. Resemble succulents and share the same type of soil, but not a succulent. Eventually there will be 4 ft heart trails , well in a few years.
Well, I am an unrepentant, chronic, perpetual seed popper.
I start a few batches of seeds almost every week.
Most recently, Begonias, New Guinea Impatiens, Jalapeno Peppers
Tithonia, Geraniums, Lima Beans and Okra.
I plan on starting some Zinnias next.
@Calyxander shoot us some pics when you get a chance!
@GMan not only do I share the same seed starting sickness as Calyxander, but I stay up late at night studying flowers. Where they grow best, water needs etc… I have books filled with flower info too. lol
