Photograph vagaries?
The area surrounding those dark spots seems to show ‘ghost’ Trichomes.
Do you have a different thought on them, my friend?
Thank you for the question, brother @Gpaw!

No, it just looked odd and I couldn’t place it…

Garden II Flush Day 3
I just drained and refilled the Res. with a fresh batch of Botanicare Clearex…
After letting the Chiller cycle the Res. 3 full times (15 minutes each)…
…here’s where I left if just prior to the 12PM feeding…
E.C. 0.6…
Environmentals (lights went out as I was in the process)…
I’m going to try and run the flush for a full week (6 days or so - 3 or 4 days from now).
I was completely dissatisfied with my last flush. I’m hoping this works out better than the last.
Trying to prepare for the harvest. I’m pretty sure I’m going to have to use the Bloom Room (still really like that name! ) to dry in. It is the only space I have right now that can create the environment for such activities - dark and climate controlled.
I’m just not sure how I’m going to do both, dry the Girls and clear the space out of its flowering systems, Res…etc.
I think I have it mentally figured out, I just have to survive their implementation!
I have been considering adding a Tent, an Exhaust Fan and A/C unit exclusively for drying and curing. I’m just not there right now.
Oh, I have also figured out there isn’t another location for the A/C unit I have in there now. I’ve puzzled it out and where it is now looks to be the best. I will try to better orient it in the space and build proper deflectors IF necessary.
I hope you’re ALL making it a great day!

Garden II Flush Day 4
Still have some Nute burned leafs. It looks like the stuff I just trimmed off instead of cutting out completely are continuing to brown. I screwed up allowing the heated Res, and my allowing the nute levels to get so high!
But, I was in there this morning (as in after 12:00AM) and I found some surprises.
I am now seeing Amber Trichomes - with the lighted 30/60X Loupe. I only checked 3 of the 5 but I saw Amber on those 3 Girls.
And, when I was in there I noticed something didn’t look right. The buds looked darkened. I thought I might have been mold. I dug into one and I don’t see anything that looks like mold…
…what I found was PURPLE!!!
The Girls (3 or 4 of them - #2 and #5 for sure…I think #4 as well, I think.) have Purple coming in.
I was in there trimming for a couple of hours this early AM…these images are before I trimmed the brown out. Some of the new yellowing is due to nutrient draw-down and expected with the Flush.
Starting the the Runt #1 Bubba Kush…Some of the images include parts of their nearest neighbor
Below is the same bud, 1 with flash, 1 without…with Purple…
Another bit of Purple…
All of the 3 images above are from #2 Bubba Kush.
Then this…it’s the same bud…this is 1 of the buds that are dangling across the Bottom but look like they should be Tops in a organized effort!
Those sizes are typical throughout. Not every bud but many, many are like this…or bigger.
I tried to get some Microscope images but I failed. I was in there hitting the shutter button again, again, and again, but when I got back to my PC none of the images were there…
I bought that new Digital Microscope I mentioned previously and it seems the shutter button on the Microscope only works in “Wired” mode. In Wireless mode you still have to hit the shutter within the app on the phone.
I’ll try and get some Micro images before Lights On.
Make it a great night, folks!
The Girls sure came on LATE!

Your going to have some nice bud for Fall/Winter!
Thank you, @Tejas!
However, this one isn’t in the ‘books’, yet.
Don’t underestimate my ability to kill plants!
IF I can get them to Harvest, this go round looks to be very good.
I do appreciate the kind words, my friend!
You ,
WHAB
Sure does!
When I said I’d get some Microscope images last night that was when I had a Noon appointment in ‘town’ today and an appointment in the ‘City’ tomorrow.
Apologies.
As I was wrestling with VA yesterday for something else (Form 1776) their “Community Care” office - the folks that manage appointments (make connections IF you don’t already have your own) and travel and such - called me to let me know they had an appointment open this early morning and do I want it.
I did. But, that screwed up the rest of my plans preventing me from getting in there last night.
I set my alarm for my AM wake-up time for 6:30AM.
I arose at 5:16AM, because of course I did!
Make it a great day, folks! I’m countin’ on ya!
See ya on the other side!

Not much to report. Been feeling exhausted. More exhausted, that is. The Girls were looking great, last time I saw them, last night, that is.
Nothing to report EXCEPT, I have been pondering sending the Girls to Total Darkness prior to Harvest for a few days now.
I am ambivalent as to its effectiveness - I always have been. I have done a bit of reading on the topic over the years.
But, since I’m here I thought I’d give it a try. Can’t hurt, I don’t believe.
That will give me a little more time to finalize preparations. I’ve been working it out in my head for a while now. We’ll see how it all works out!
Oh, dang! I just remembered I ‘think’ I saw a whole box of Canning Jars out in the Hoop House I meant to bring in, or at least look at.
So, in 5 minutes we’ll be …

I hope you’re all doing Great!

I just hit on this…
I am finding most of these digital microscopes to be a bit of a pain. Sometimes more of a pain than what they’re worth, imo.
Photographing Trichomes only shows the heads that are in focus at that particular focal range. Most everything else is obliterated, scarcely recognizable as a Trichome.
After I bought the ‘newest’ Digital Microscope (DM going forward IF ever the discussion might arise ) I noticed an addendum mentioning a base mount for it but you had to request by email to get it. Then they said…
"Thank you so much for contacting us. Before sending the stand, can you let me know your feeling about this microscope?
If you like the microscope, are you willing to open this link to rate it or post a review for it? Can you send us the screenshot picture once it is done?
Amazon Sign-InOnce we get your answer, we will send the stand immediately."
I thought that was a little like begging but it wouldn’t hurt me to make a comment on the device … It does seem like a decent one, so far.
Once I did and they did, they sent me the base. In very rapid order!
This is the base. This is the other branch I took from the Left where I’d taken the previous from the Right. #5 Bubba Kush.
This is the Top bud off of the branch above. I had taken the picture before I had the idea of zooming out on it…I knew I was going to look at it under the DM but not using that effect. I didn’t hit on the idea until I was 4 or 5 buds in. I went back to the top bud for this.
I just used the adjustability of the base of that ‘newest’ DM to get as deep in as I can and focus it there then zoom out until another aspect of it is in focus…repeatedly while zooming out - on the same spot.
I did have to move the last image back to being the last image, something allows it to be moved to the first position, sometimes . Also, I started rotating the images. That is the orientation they were taken in
Will need some practice but, that ‘may’ be the most practical of it’s uses. Neat effect regardless, imo.
You can also see some of the Purple I didn’t know existed until days later on the other side of the space.
Also, you can see how swapping out the last image and putting it in the first position can really screw things up visually and as a story.
That base does seem to be very robust, a better assembly than I expected I’d receive, and is quite effective in its role. It’s a very nice assembly…nice machining, all metal (except the knobs and doodads).
Oh, I also bought some Boveda Curing packets. I only bought a 10 pack but I’ll use them side-by-side with the Grove Bags this go round. I’m putting the buds off the above branch in a Grove Bag right now.
I ‘think’ I’m not going to put all of that branch in the bag…
Good morning!

Nicely done!
If you are far more cleaver than me you can stack the in-focus bits together in Photoshop and make great synthetic shots.
You can get deeper fields of view with lower magnification,
I’ve been fooling around that.
Cheers
G
Thank you, kindly sir!
Yeah, after I posted that I was reminded that the App I’m using does allow for recording video.
I don’t have Photoshop. I had it once for a while a long while ago and just never invested the time in mastering it - barely being able to use it at all, is what I meant!
I didn’t use what I had learned and what I knew was lost.
After my viewing those consecutive images above I thought - what if there were a way to connect still images as IF they were moving! What IF?!?!
<—At me!
I might try a video next, though…maybe.
I will say this DM does seem to work pretty well. And, I don’t know if it is due to the App used, but I can see the camera moderate its lighting while in use. I can see it shifting about in the image (what I’m looking at in the screen on my phone) until it comes to rest.
Although, my last foray into DM video was not a pleasant one, as I recall
Nice to see ya around, my friend! Thanks for the discussion! I do hope all is well with you and yours!
G,

I tried it a couple times way back. I didn’t see any change at harvest.
Good morning.
Hey brother @Floyd!
Thank you and good morning to you, sir!
Yeah, I should have just said I let time get away from me and I’m using this time to catch up to my lazy ass and this is handy excuse!
<— at me.
Actually, it was just a good time to do it IF I were ever to do it
Good to see you around, my friend! Thank you for your contribution!

Here’s my tentative Garden II Harvest plan.
I’m going to take them all out in other, separate 5 gallon buckets.
I’m going to see IF I can get some images of the Girls and their roots. I plan to use an old temporary Hanging Light mount that I briefly used above my Delta 22-650 Thickness Planer to hang the Girls from for their Photo Shoot …
… it’s the White looking board in the Vertical Stack of Red Oak below. I’m currently using it to hold my LED Work Light as I needed the light mounted above the Finishing Room and there isn’t a good way to accomplish that in that location…windows and CONCRETE wall covering
While I have them out for Photos AND some Wet Trimming (just the sucker leaves) I’m going to try and break down the RDWC system, the 5 gallon buckets and the Controller Bucket, at least.
That will give me the entire space to dry in, it is the only environmentally controlled space I have (A loose interpretation of that term! ). I’ll have the whole space shy of the what the Res. is occupying (IF I can’t get it out of there too - I’m going to try).
I only want to have them outside of that space just long enough for pictures and light wet trimming.
IF I can’t get the system broken down in a reasonable amount of time I’ll push everything I want out nearer toward the door and hang the Girls in the space behind them.
I did go out and grab those Mason Jars I thought I’d seen in my stuff in the Hoop House.
I knew I had more jars but I wasn’t sure where they were - in the Hoop House, in my Nieces RV or in my storage unit 2 driving hours away.
It is only missing 1 jar and that is 1 jar that’s been bouncing around with me since I took it out of that box - when the box was in a more recognizable form! I have it right next to me.
Weather protection out there is a scarcity.
I’m a little surprised that they’re in as good a shape as they are. I was expecting worse. The packing tape even held up, though…I had to cut it.
I had replacement Bands & Lids for them in my Amazon basket ready to pull the trigger on them.
I’m glad I waited. I thought it best I at least look at them and see how they were. These lids look pretty good! I had to replace the lids of the other dozen Mason Jars I used last go round.
BUT, as I was carrying them back to the Schoolhouse I felt something happen to my left arm. I waited to look at it…no matter what it was the jars needed to get moved in!
I saw this before I even looked at my arm. I knew I had either been bitten or pinched or stung or something - I wasn’t sure.
Before I opened the box above I saw this…
After several minutes it looked like this…
What is it?
Does anyone know what that is? The swelling has nearly disappeared now.
It turns out there were 2 of them in the box. I sent them both to their demise seeing as how inhospitable they were to me! There is NO WAY we can COEXIST with that rude behavior!!!
Oh, I did try taking a video of it earlier today BUT I started wrong. I started with the lens away from the subject. After that it was mostly a blurry mess and not much in focus activity.
I’ll try doing it a different way but maybe those consecutive zooming out images is the best method

Make it a great night, everyone!

Looks like an assassin bug.
That ridge on the back is the ‘tell’.
Cheers
G
That looks like the right call, my friend!
While I see there are MANY, MANY varieties of them, the one you identified looks to be one of them.
Brownish with the ridge back and the what looks like a stinger on the front of it. This one is so equipped. . Which, from what I read, that stinger is part of its head - weird lookin’ dude!.
According to Bob Vila it looks like I probably should have invited them in to stay a while…(more on that later )
I probably laid my arm right on him when I grabbed the box. Never thought to look at it closely and certainly not into it
The tape was holding up, I noticed - what could possibly go wrong?!?! I was only going to get one shot at it!
Thanks for the assist, brother!

thought I would drop in and say hello, been a long time WHAB…I like your new digs there, very nice. Been a long since I been on the forums but couldn’t resist when I seen overgrow back up and running.
Your grow is looking awesome and I will be pulling up chair if ya don’t mind
