WHAB’s 1924 Brick Schoolhouse RDWC

Here is what I would like to know! Dimensions of the room including head space.
Also when dealing with limited space I have found floor space to be extremely valuable. Have you considered getting the cloning machine off of the floor and onto a well built sturdy shelf (legs from shelf to floor if need be), it would stop all that bending over I know you love and give you more floor space to work with. You could even mount some floro lights on the underside of the shelf for starts after they have rooted. Just left of that a/c would be a great place for said shelf.

Hello brother! wavy

59 inches wide, 96 inches long, and 59-1/2 inches tall.

The one “wall” just to the left of the A/C unit is the North cement wall. The other wall to the left of the space, the East wall, in the above images is not a “wall” in the conventional sense…

Here is the other side of that wall with the power strip running under it…

.

I can’t hang anything there.

The only walls I could possibly mount anything to, and that would be sketchy as hell as neither are exactly “finished”, are the East wall (the "tall wall)…

…and the South wall…

Again, neither is ‘finished’. They’re only holding Poly Shield up.

That South wall is also the farthest away from electrical supply. That’s why I did not include it in the request for ideas/suggestions/recommendations.

Thank you for adding to the discussion, my friend! I appreciate it! tup

I got everything up there! I nearly lost the reservoir, though…that thing is a BEAST! ROFLMAO I thought I had it handled and that it was up there, it slid to the left and it took everything I had to prevent it from slamming down on the floor or worse! crazy It had momentum and mass on its side! ROFLMAO

But, I ran in to 2 problems.

First problem: I wanted to run a bleach solution through it. Since that was in the Flower Controller Bucket before yesterday, I didn’t think about flushing it out until I set it up in Cloning Machine II and was ready to plug it in! facepalm ROFLMAO

I brought it back down to the classroom ROFLMAO

Second problem: the round peg, square hole conundrum winky

I cut that hole through Cloning Machine II exactly big enough to accept the plug for the old pumps.

This plug on the new pump is just a scooch larger and won’t fit through facepalm ROFLMAO

I will flush that pump and enlarge that hole in the Cloning Machine II’s lid later today.

I’ll then fill the reservoir up, adjust for pH and let it set until I actually need it.

Good morning everyone!

Make it a great day! tup

I’m hoping that when I raise my head off my pillow later to that one more many have come up with a great plan and then I’ll make it a great day, too! winky

Man, I wrestled with this since my last post!

I just bought the Rockwool Insulation I need to finish the under-loft Veg/Bloom Room!!!

Whew!!! cantlook

Right now, I’m not entirely sure how I will address the varying width stud bays…I guess I’ll figure that out when I need to! ROFLMAO

On a positive note, I thought insulating that space, to include the ceiling, was going to cost much more! cantlook ROFLMAO

Good morning!,

Speaking of workbenches… I just upgraded my printer room for $60 with some insane deals. A local clothing store was going out of business and had all their fixtures on sale too. Picked up 3 “Lee Jeans Shelving” units, each has 4 shelves (work surfaces for me). They were 5’ long and 3’ wide at the max (shelves were 30", 33", 36" and a 16" top shelf). ALL the framing is hollow 2" steel square tube that looks to be 3/16" wall! These suckers are HEAVY (oh and shelves are steel tube / birch ply). $25 ea, 3 for $60.

For a woodworker, the top 16" shelf is useless and you’d wanna cut that off. For me, its a perfect shelf to hold 3 printers per unit while leaving me with a 30" wide work surface at the perfect workbench height. I’ve seen similar workbenches offered at the big box stores in the $300 range each.

They had other fixtures that would be useful too. a trio of tables, like a pyramid. All I thought was “damn that would hold 3g pots on each level perfectly”. They had acrylic racks for $10 (my gf got 3 of em for her ebay store items and they REALLY help organize her ebay room). And I got a solid 3’x4’ table with cast iron base for $5 which is perfect for dry ice hash, the surface is nicely laminated

All of their fixtures were pennies on the dollar, seriously. Buying three similar benches would have cost me $900, and I spent $60 and an afternoon disassembling / moving em.

Never know where you’ll find stuff! I hemmed and hawed about buying the benches, moneys tight, can I justify it? Their sale was originally 2 days, they extended it a day, I went back on the last day “would you guys make a deal on 3?” BAM! I’m hooked up. I already can see how I will benefit as it took most of the week to reorganize and re-setup the printers, but its SO much more functional now…

ps. I’ve participated in “Wheelers for the Wounded” (run by Wounded Warriors Project) when I had my YJ Wrangler. Spend a day with a vet, crawling thru the woods in our jeeps. I had one vietnam vet screaming like a girl thinking we were gonna flop on our side, but my little monster made it thru just fine LOL

Hey @Nagel420! wavy

That’s outstanding! Sweet deals, man! woohoo

I would be keen to see what you’re doing with them!

When you say you’re using them to home “3 printers” are you referring to conventional printer or 3D printers? I can’t make sense of having 3 ‘ink’ printers in my head! winky

Thank you for supporting our heroes! I could not appreciate that more! Some of my favorite people!

IF you can find them time, I know how much time is critical to us all and how difficult it is to spread it around, check out Rob Cosman’s (and Col. Luther’s) Purple Heart Project.

IF you know any Combat Veterans that are suffering a host of difficulties that ‘may’ benefit from the Distractive Therapy of Hand-Tool Woodworking please have them apply to the program.

The Purple Heart Project offers a long list of benefits for those Wounded Warriors that are accepted. A full week of instruction to include Room & Board in their shop in Canada, returning home after that week with over $2000 worth of hand tools, and lifetime membership in Rob Cosman’s online instruction which includes 5 1/2 hour instructional courses per week…and it goes on and on!

I would encourage any Wounded Warrior apply. I believe working with ones hands in something like woodworking provides an activity that requires concentration in the activity and distracts our Hero from whatever is currently occupying their mind. I believe Distractive Therapy can help!

And, yours is but one of the awesome grow threads I apologize for not visiting more. I will correct that as I can!

Thank you for your contribution here in mine, brother! tup

Edit Add: I forgot to mention that my BIL bought A BUNCH of retail shelving from a store that was closing that allowed me to set up a woodshop in a outbuilding that was piled 6 feet high with years of things (being diplomatic in my description winky). I wound up putting EVERYTHING on those shelves which cleared the floor space for my use!

The 3/4 inch tubing I ordered came in! tup

Now I can set up the 5 gallon Flower system upon which I’m going to set up the 2 gallon Veg system.

A layered cake approach to indoor gardening! smokeit2

I’m just trying this to see IF it is workable. I don’t know that it is or will be! cantlook ROFLMAO

I’ll note here that I always try to mark my boxes I’m storing things in on a minimum of 3 sides (the example below is actually marked on 4 sides)…

…so when I go looking for things it is nearly impossible to not see my markings from any angle the boxes may be in making finding things a lot easier! tup

That’s how I easily found that box when I was looking for something else. I found the primary target I was searching for and snatched this up coincidentally and brought it in knowing I’d need it soon.

Oh, instead of taking them time now to flush the pump I switched out in Cloning Machine II, I bought the other one last night!

It is due in tomorrow! tup woohoo

I am going to try to come up with a better way to make the connection between the new pump and Cloning Machine II. I have some 1 inch tubing in the shed I will try to make the connection with. In my head I’m not sure how I will connect that tubing to the tapered end of that 1/2 inch PVC corner piece. I’m not sure IF that will work or not. I will try, though.

A little more information on the watch.

Well, that worked better than I expected! woohoo

Maybe too well! winky

The fitting and the hose are essentially the same diameters. I was not really expecting it to work when I held both parts/pieces in my hand.

I ‘may’ have to do it again, though. I pushed the hose on too hard and the fitting went too far into the hose causing it to cock over (get your mind out of the gutter, you deviants! ROFLMAO).

I tried to pull the test fitting out to get it straight and I can’t pull it out - which bodes well for the application I am assigning to it! I think it will work fine, it just bothers my overripe melon! cantlook crazy ROFLMAO

I’m ready for you, new pump! Come at me, bro! ROFLMAO).

I am very happy I kept mulling that connection over in my Thought Process Machine. It produced a MUCH better solution!

I’m not sure what else I’ll get done today. My neck started aching again…the left side this time frown Oh, I was just reminded that my mid back is throwing a fit! I can’t even remember what I was doing to that started that pain…that’s how effective my abilities to push pain away is. I just forget about it - at least for a little while.

I’m pretty sure I have decided, barring being convinced otherwise, to go with option 2 for the Cloning Machine II placement. I ‘think’ it will be better situated to accommodate electrical and water filling/draining needs.

I am going to try and get that wall mounted oscillating fan in the loft off the wall and the Veg/Flower light socket out from under the Poly Shield and take them to the under-loft Veg/Bloom Room!

I’ll have to consider their placement in addition to the other systems…A/C, Dehumidifier, ReservoirS…etc.

I just a few minutes ago made arrangements to pick up at least 1 blue 30 gallon barrel (I want to get 2 of them) and at least 2 3 wheelers on the 13th when the Rockwool insulation is expected to be ready for pick up. I’ll have my trailer on my car for that and I can make it a round trip. The exact condition of the 3 wheelers is unknown - I briefly looked at them when I was there the last time. They’re on the wheels and I noticed at least 1 of them still retains its engine in its appropriate location! winky )

I already took the “new” switchable ballast I had stored up in the loft and ready for the next usage down to the new Veg/Bloom Room space.

Btw, @Purple-N-Hairy, a couple of months ago I bought a drinking water/refrigerator valve and tubing to use as you described as a 30 gallon RO reservoir divert ready for whatever use. That’s what the second 30 gallon barrel will be used for. But, I only closely looked at one of them to see IF they’re worth getting…not UV damaged. I don’t know the condition of the others.

I thought about grabbing a blue 50 gallon barrel (I did see a couple of those laying about), I just don’t have the floor space in the Classroom near the water source to home one.

Thank you for the idea, brother Purple! I appreciate ALL of the help you have provided me! tup

Hey @Tejas! wavy

I do thank you for that.

However, just to let you know, our friend @Gpaw posted that link yesterday.

Regardless, I do sincerely appreciate your attempt at helping and doing the work in finding it for me!

It’s great information!

Does anyone know what the Grading means? I can only associate it with something I do know about.

I don’t believe it is like the Numismatic Grading a I’m familiar with, but I don’t really know.

THANK YOU! tup,

Sorry about reposting the information. Grading from what I found in a old watch book runs from G-10(NOS) to G-1 scrap. Gauge has to do with the size of the watch.

No need to apologize, my friend! You were trying to help and I could not appreciate it more!

Yes, I picked up the size reference. I’m just not sure what “Grade 46” means.

This may answer the grade question.

While great information, thank you, my friend!..

…the exact definition must be Top Secret as nothing clearly defines Grade 46. winky

The closet my overripe melon can conjure up is it is the totality of the device…size, style, mechanism, and jewel count.

Nothing I can find nails it down beyond those scant generalized details.

Thank you, brother! I do appreciate your contributions to the discussion!

When I was looking at the front page of that site I noticed that they seemed to be assigning the same grade to watches of the model (44) then yours was assigned 46.
That got me wondering if it was a collectability grading based on the number of watches built of each model… Just a SWAG…

Okay, I finally found it.

I saw the hyperlink the other day, the first time I used the site, but it requires a download.

I almost ALWAYS decline downloads.

I was forced to do it this time.

It is quite informative!

Nailed it! winky

This is going to work very well! I think winky

Instead of cutting off a new length off the roll, which I was going to do, I reused the “test” specimen. There was enough remaining length to allow it. When I cut it the fitting was still in hose/tubing, I couldn’t remove the fitting by hand (It made a great seal and it will make a great seal!). But it did cause the cutter to skew as it went through and made a crooked cut, which I somewhat expected. I flipped that cut around so I could put a hose clamp (due in tomorrow) on it and used the straight, factory edge on the fitting end. I won’t see the crooked cut behind the clamp! cantlook crazy

I also bought some handlebar plugs, due in tomorrow.

I will have to modify them, including cutting the big end off completely, it’s the part that protrudes exterior of the handlebar…the part you grind off when you hit the Earth! ROFLMAO And working with the diameter I do decide to use.

I ‘think’ removing those hollow legs from the circuit will help a lot!

I thought about using a hole saw with the pilot drill removed and trap the hole saw in a wooden frame to make a plug to super-glue in place. I think modifying the handlebar cap is better use of my time.

I haven’t done much else other than that. I could use a nap! ROFLMAO

I am cooking an actual meal tonight! It’s almost done! tup winky

I hope you’re all making the night great! tup
