So I was at my family’s place over the holidays and my brother in law’s kid(my nephew?) was watching family guy.
They made this stupid catchy song and it sounds like they used a real classic rock song but I can’t put my finger on it

Obligatory and traditional…Auld Lang Syne

I picked this Peanuts version because I know some of you have never known the words (or even the title), and this one has the lyrics.

Make It A Great 2022, OG!

I missed most of the first set, but enjoyed the rest. YEM was the highlight for me.

I also loved the cover of Syd Barrett’s Baby Lemonade - complete with vacuum cleaner solo - which they hadn’t played in 30 years.

RIGHT!!! To most, the electrolux is a WTF moment. When I saw them switching places and the electrolux come out, I knew it would be fun times! Fishman is comic relief for sure… Last time I got a fishman tune must have been Hampton Comes Alive back in the 90s! HYHU (which they did a bit of at the end of Baby Lemonade too), thats like Fish’s ā€œstage exitā€ tune… lol…

Slave in the first set was sweet… Tube is a favorite… Free was a nice treat, but kept together without 45 minute solos… I knew Cavern was first set closer when they started it and REALLY wanted to see Giant Country Horns come out… Cavern with Horns is AMAZING

2nd set the strong tunes were DWD, YEM and Possum. What can I say, I’m old school. The rest of that set was more newer stuff (well, Frankie Says can be fun)…

3rd set - Blaze On to start was a good way to open… Haven’t heard ā€œwhat’s the useā€ since Great Woods or IT (cant remember which one), but last time I saw it live I swear the jams were orchestrated to the most amazing sunset in Great Woods, MA… Twist is always a good live tune, then the Baby Lemonade and closing with Harry Hood (REALLY missed the giant glowstick wars that should have been).

Little disappointed they didnt do anything theatrical but under the circumstances, and in light of actually doing this at a WHOLE other venue than was planned (some soundstage bands use to rehearse for major tours vs. playing in MSG), I gotta say, they were on the ball and this one was for the Phans! Chris’s lights are just over the top, he keeps adding things and how he lights up that stage and the arena, he will ALWAYS be the fifth member of that band to me. His lights blow my mind more and more…

Going to do transplanting and doing some rearranging (moving lights, setting up a 5x5 tent for veg) etc gonna mellow out to this mixtape.

I am a dead head; friends are huge Phish fans. Had been dragged to several Phish shows, but definitely was not aware of/had not experienced the Electrolux. That was quite the thing to witness with a head full of fungi in Pittsburgh. Kuroda had me tripping with his lights that night already. Huge WTF moment when that happened mid-2nd set. :joy:

I had to ask my friend 'is this really happening?" hahaha
