🎧 What Are You Listening To? Volume 3 (Part 1)

Sadly this was a thing when I was young and homeless. I can say that with 100% certainty.

Well that’s completely fucked. Never heard of that before.

Yeah, Toronto in the 80’s. Many of us got that ride from the scum at 52 division. That gang of thugs were worse criminals than most they were arresting.

mid '80s song, if memory serves? just started high school, that is how I date things, is by events I associate them with. if I associate 'em, that is, which… has been known not to happen from, time to time. just on an occasion or three, no more than that, I promise? now, on to the next song!

looks like they’re trying to be ‘KISS’ without wanting to put the time into the makeup part of the gig let alone having any vocal or harmonious aspects of the ‘game’, so to speak. albeit, in my humble, but modest opinion. but what do I know, I didn’t even sleep at a Holiday Inn Express last night!

Hm. Am I missing something when it comes to youtube links? Doesn’t appear to want to show the video within the post.

They were terrible!
But their shows were a blast - bring a change of clothes, it gets weird…
@kushdaddy - use the share button at the bottom of the youtube screen (I bet you were copy/pasting the link – like I was! )

Smetana, “The Moldau”
Part of a larger symphonic poem, “Ma Vlast” (My Country). The piece describes the river Moldau in Czechoslovakia. Knowing that, it still reminds me of being out on the open ocean.

It’s late… the full moon is blazing behind the occasional cloud. My minds on fire, sleep, come hither, quench this soul and let me rest afor I die again.

my fav of Rod Stewart, has to be… Tonight’s the Night (Gonna Be Alright). it came out in '75 or '76, I was a squirt on the farm most of the time ['til fall (for schooling)], must have heard this song 5,000 times during my childhood. I know it sounds crazy, but repetitiveness does teach, to a certain point (parrots, etc…). I can remember words to songs, I may not have heard for years? didn’t have any fancy computer to help me learn the words either, learnt them the old fashioned way. that’s right, I tuned out my environment while listening to the radio while I suffered through thousands of hours of working on the farm, hundreds of hours of family gatherings, in which the customary family fights, would naturally ensue! ah, life! gotta, love it!
