What did packs of seeds cost 5 years ago?

Being new to growing and the expenses, I am guessing the price of seeds went up exponentially over the past 5 years or so like everything else. Is this the case?

I’d say they’ve come down.

Not really man and if anything prob cheaper now… depends upon the breeder though. Not many white label options 20 years ago. Some companies kept same prices through the years. Also consider tons of autoflowers these days which generally less expensive

Wow, that’s surprising. Good to know though. Thanks!

Packs were $100-$150 in the 90’s. That’s pricey these days with inflation added in. At least there’s one area that hasn’t gone way up on us. Haha

Wayyy back on the original OG…seems like things were $50-75 ($50 then is equal to $103 today) with some things commanding more…but not many. Then there were some folks later (2000’s)… who wanted $150-200 (Topdawg has the same pricing now as was offered then) while others sell their untested/sprayed wares via reverse auctions for as low as $16 a pack. (no name needs mentioned as the reputation procedes all they do).

And then there’s OG. Free or super cheap…and already grown by someone who knows what they are and how they will perform…not some crap on the “breeder” description that says “should yield well and offer really dank buds”. Yeah…or a banana fest… :face_vomiting:

Well 20 years ago the attitude was one of the only places I trusted.
Add about 35$ for “international stealth shipping guarantee” right there on a $50 order.
Fem seeds have always cost almost 10$ a piece.

For the most part i agree with what everyone said. Seeds are either less expensive or the same price. There has always been people asking ridicules money for genes that weren’t worth it. Now there is a lot of those people and they are becoming harder to weed out.

I was interested in getting some TH MK Ultra regs but I was unable to find any.

I can’t sleep without this teddy bear.

I’ve to comment the initial post, bookmarked. There is bunch of hidden costs that should be more highlighted.

We paid $400 Can for a pack of Somas NYC Diesel and $300 for a pack of G-13 back around the turn of the century. In hindsight, it was not worth it. Seeds are much more available now, and the flush has dropped the bottom out of the market.

With Companies like Socal Seed Vault and breeders like Alter Ego high quality strains of yesteryear and new generation are available to anyone. With 12 packs going for 40$ to 60$ its good herb and the germ rates are phenomenal. Not to say there isnt really expensive packs still going around doenst mean you will pull better plants out of that 175$ than you will that 40$ pack.

You mean the stoners casually ignoring the cops running up on their plants? Haha I think those guys were dosing or something
