What funnel do you use for mixing nutes?

I use this funnel. It works very well. It fits inside a milk jug.

I’m thinking about upgrading. What do you all think?

Most excellent! Funnels are a necessity, and plastic sucks. These look great, and are at a good price-point, I especially like the one with the 1" neck

What about this antique one ….

That’s a flavored funnel. Not for everyone. :stuck_out_tongue:

My Father, who was a lab chemist in the 1960’s said something to me as a kid that never left me after asking him about funnels:

“Funnels? Never use them. The paid me for my accuracy which included pouring properly and accurately directly into bottles without needing a funnel.”

So he taught me a few tricks:

1: Commit to the pour, just like with pouring alcohol.
2: Pour into a “small circle” that you image exists within the bigger circle that is the opening of the bottle.
3: practice, and with different viscosity liquids.

So I followed the instructions and pour accurately without a funnel with the exception of 1 task: dumping 2gal of filtered water at a time into a 5 gal water bottle that lives in my grow-room as instant 5.7-6.3ph water for plants.

I use a large brewers funnel is used here so I can dump fast and the funnel holds the excess. I have soo much patience to pour small quantities of even scary as fuck liquids but once I’m past 1 gallon my patience wains and I just want that shit done as fast a possible.

I can do this, but then I realize, “hey, I’m doing it…well…” and then I promptly spill it all over the place…. Can’t win for trying

I use a red one. It has ridges on the spout so it doesn’t vapor lock. Two thumbs up.

Im like you on this… i just start… and pour faster… and raise the bucket up higher and voilà accurate as hell!!

Funnel flexing? Reminds me of heady q-tip jars. I use the stainless sausage stuffer attachment from an old meat grinder from time to time that works well for small spaces but mostly weigh up dry ferts in a cat food tin. Fancy feast, not that cheap shit.

Transmission funnels are nice to have around.

I keep a couple of these utility jugs topped up with RO and work well reaching pots in the back and the wide mouth is good for transferring to my main fert res.
