Let’s take a deep dive into the world of hash — from its origins and types to tips, legends, and your personal stories. This is the thread for true lovers of the melt
What is Hashish?
Hashish is a concentrated form of cannabis made by collecting and compressing trichomes (the sticky crystals full of cannabinoids). It’s one of the oldest and most traditional ways to enjoy the plant.
How’s it Made?
There are a few classic methods:
Dry Sift – Kief is sifted from dried plants and pressed (Lebanese, Moroccan style).
Hand-Rubbed – Fresh resin is rubbed off live plants (Nepalese, Indian Charas).
Water/ice extraction – Bubble hash, a newer tech with old-school roots.
Regional Hash Flavors: Each region’s hash has its own vibe:
Moroccan – Crumbly, dry, smooth smoke. Great daytime hash.
Red Lebanese – Soft, spicy, relaxing and rich. Legendary chill.

I love the concentration of the terps you get in the good hash. Personally I use dynavap to vape hash, to enjoy the most of the flavour and potency. I usually put it between smoking paper to empty chamber.
When Rolling Dry Sift by hand before you even scoop up the Sift warm your hands up.Rub them together for a couple min then pick up that pile of sift and compress it and hold it in your palm so you marry your body heat to that ball you are compressing.Compact it roll it then flatten it out then fold it over in layers like they make Damascus steel then smash it back down flat again.Do this over and over again untill you form a perfect ball and you can see the marbling in the compressed layers molded together.Wrap in Cellophane and store in Cool dry place.Product will last for years thats if you can leave it alone for that long.Hint…. It wont last that long you will gobble it up its that good. The finer sift you get that passes through the finest mesh you have will be the gooey hash it will melt much finer it has less waxy heads in it so it will be much softer. That grade of hash will pool back to a flat mass if you let it sit on a hard surface. This is in my opinion the best grade it has much more flavor and the stone if more refined
I’ve been enjoying this Captain Black cherry pipe tobacco. it’s great for rolling a nice hash spliff. I learned to roll spliffs in Amsterdam early 2000’s. then come back to the States, and everyone absolutely hates tobacco mixed in. but they’ll smoke a cigarette right after.
Im not one to bash anothers preference, and its easy to see how tobacco helps hash burn in a spliff. I think half the people go “yuck” because they imagine only philip morris type tobacco. Im a former long time smoker, and i see the appeal of a good spicy leathery tobacco complimenting hash just fine, but ill never touch another “cigarette” again. Team no pre roll anything here.
In the 70’s hash was way more prevalent than today’s market. I had a plug who would get it shipped, he head ounces of it. I usually got either a quarter or the half. There was a Lebanese Blonde and a darker one, LB was my favorite. Hash is a bitch to smoke but my method was a ball on a paper clip in a cocktail glass frozen, pulled with a straw. Then in a blunt or a bed of fresh ground in a bowl with a sprinkle to slow it down. The euphoria behind a proper session would last for hours.
Later on as I began making my own, I heard rumors that they were adding pollen to the Blonde smoother bricks. I’m currently whipping up a new batch of pollen on a project and have a few zips of trim to cover the experiment. Only thing is how much pollen should I blend in ?
I only tried hash once ever back in 1999. I guess my next run I need to try and make some. What can one expect quantity wise from a few ounces of flower?
Hash is basically a concentrated form of cannabis, made from the plant’s resin. Tried it once after a long stressful week, and ended up on the sofa for hours, total couch lock vibes. Felt super chilled and just zoned out, no pressure to do anything.
