What types of hand held smoke filters ala smoke buddies do you use?

I have typically used a smoke buddy or a product called a smoke trap, which is basically a smoke buddy you can clean out for more uses.

I am going to be moving into a new place soon and i want to control the amount of smoke in the home.

I don’t use any. I just keep the smoke out of the house and smoke in my garage, or outside now that it’s warming up. When I did use them a few times in the past, it was always a homemade one. You probably have the stuff already lying around the house to make one.

If you have a spare inline you can rig it up to your smoke spot in the crib with some ducting and have it exhaust the smoke right outside.

I always smoked in the bathroom. Most bathrooms have an exhaust fan or a window, and the non-porous surfaces in a bathroom clean up easily. The tub is also great for filling and emptying a bong.

Now I smoke in a laundry room, but the principle remains the same. Smoke and blow out the window.

In the spirit of the thread I could always jam some dryersheets in a paper towel tube, seeing as I am in the laundry room…

Old school! Actually works quite well. Don’t forget a pipe with a cover so it doesn’t smolder.

The Smoke buddy works great and I ended up using the Sploofy because it was easy to get refills. Worked like a charm when I used to live in places I couldn’t smoke.

The “Scoob” as we called it… Cheap, everyone has the necessary materials and works well. LOL

I smoke flower and dab in a room with exhaust going outside, we don’t smoke in the rest of the house. Smoke ruins your paint and well basically everything, if I’m going to smoke a cigarette it’ll be on the deck,. Absolutely no smoking tobacco in the house.

We called those bounties. We were brand oriented lol.

Smoke buddies work fine, but just dont last with rhe way i smoke. I just smoke to much too frequently. I like the smoke trap because i can just clean the filer and it is good to go again. Just wondering what else is out there.

I plan to go outside, but i dont have a garage. So in the winter it wont work. It gets cold in alberta, so venting outside would rquire a pretty insulated duct set up.

The layout of the place is open as well, so i dont have a room to go into where i can close a door.

I have been thinking i will mostly smoke near my grow tent and blow into the charcoal filter. Maybe try out a homemade hepa filter type thing.

I’ve been thinking about this because I too get sick of smoking outside in the deep winter and I’m nowhere near Alberta. My thought has been to put the cheapest 3x3 I can find or build in the attic and rig up a vent through one of the windowpanes with a gravity baffle or two inline to keep cold drafts from coming back in. I’ll just take my old shitty Vivosun fan and do gentle negative presure outside, might even just use a window vent fitting that has the ability to manually close when I’m not using it.

If you wanted a really cheap way to filter the air and particulates in your house, you can go HEPA/MERV either DIY or readymade, but you could also filter and humidify your air simultaneously with a water-based air purifier. These use an air pump to bubble through water and diffusion plates just like a bong with grid/mesh percolators and they filter the air the same way. Basically you make an electric powered giant bong for your house air, I’m sure you can see the many ways to build it but the principle is very familiar. You’d just need to change the water periodically and treat it like a hydro res with a little H202 or something to keep the critters down in between changes. I’d like to make one eventually to bring up the humidity in my house and because I like the sound of the bubbles if I can find a silent enough air pump.

Thanks for the link @Dirt_Wizard, I finally got around to checking the article out after all the Easter weekend madness

I wish I had one of those filters as a kid, I grew up only steps away from the busiest border crossing in North America. All those trucks really did a number on the lungs.

I have been using a smoke trap + lately, it works for hundreds of breaths, easily 5x the capacity of a smoke buddy for the same price.

Really recommend
