I’m going more green for better health this year.
I use some down to earth bio-live 5-3-2 and vegetable mix 4-4-4, worm castings, build-A-flower, dynomyco with recharge
Does really well in these city pickers
do u age the cow manure, My friend dropped off a bag few weeks ago.
Mix 50/50 with soil and add a bunch of worms.
After about a month you can add again 50% soil and you’re good to go.
Something like that.
Personally I’ve just been adding kitchenscraps to my stacked pots.
Peat
Pumice
Glacial rock dust / azomite
Gypsum
Dolomite lime
SRP
Kelp
Alfalfa
Neem meal
Sulpomag
Nice soil mix @BirD, do you use plain water from there out?
Yes it’s best to aged the new, I suggest 10 year old aged chicken manure and water outdoors.
Inside a manure mixture will perform outstanding in big containers with regular dirt. Maybe pumice for air flow if you wanted.
I’ll use smaller amounts in containers to start plants. I5 gallon container and 4 to 5 inches of soil is also a way to get fast growth and nice root zones for your seedlings at 7 days old. Just put them in the big containers as soon as you can.
No worries on tap roots yet, get the root zone tough and strong with water, 1st month your plants don’t require an over abundance of plant substitutes. Plain water, top dress plant food to keep up with your water usage.
aged, yes I am sure I have some next to my fine wines and whiskeys. lol sorry just sounds funny.
I think Greensand has a 10 year life in soil, so I’d want that in the dream team perfect soil mix. Any other long term amendments, suggestions that you could use with Greensand?
For a long lasting soil blend.
If I have any left over cash, i want to build a couple Sue Johnson bioreactors.
so green sand is a silica? could a person not just water often as apposed to using it?
Yes just ph to 6.3 on fresh mix I’ll let cook for 3 weeks
That is a nice plant food selection lol
