What's the name of the terpene that smells like a Heineken bottle left out in the sun?

Is it Mycrene or something else?

I’ve noticed there’s no hint of it in the Afghaan 90 or Kerela in my stash but most street weed in the UK and stuff I got in Slovenia all stinks of it.

Not sure if it’s a terpene or thiol or ester or some other volatile compound.

It’s often refered to as a ‘skunky’ smell but doesn’t actually smell like a skunk.

I actually think people refer to the smell from a beer bottle as ‘skunky’ because it smells like indoor grown street weed which large swathes of the UK population still refer to as ‘skunk’ regardless of its actual genetics.

I don’t found the answer, i just crossed the path of the equation.

For me ( and i rightly “see” the “skunk” quoted) it’s :
Terpinolène + Not identified monoterp, i bet one of the alcohol ones. Volatile sesquiterp were a good lead but technically can’t stand the reality : these phenos you’re talking about stink the hell early in veg. Can’t be sesquiterp dominant to offer this pattern. imho

I don’t know if we talk about the same smell but probably:

Chavolene?

Seriously though I think it’s degradation of the hops because of sunlight. What it’s called I couldn’t say.

Myrcene terp
Esters volatile

Umm…it’s commonly referred to as “Eww, gross” by young ladies and nondrinkers

Cannabis and sun-exposed beer both smell “skunky” because of the presence of volatile sulfur compounds (VSCs) called thiols, specifically 3-methyl-2-butene-1-thiol (321MBT). In beer, these compounds are formed when light interacts with the iso-alpha acids from hops, while in cannabis, they are naturally occurring and are a major source of its pungent odor, according to the ACS Publications blog.

It’s this, humulene is one of the predominant terpenes in hops, and this terpene specifically is the bitter beer face terpene when it comes to brewing, common in bittering hops used to balance sweetness.

Mycrene is thought to cause the couch lock effect. I watched a video where they were trying to find a real daytime smoke. Things are so hybridized in dispensaries (and random street weed to a less extent) that stuff labeled sativa has more couch lock terp then some stuff labeled indica

Tldr, if you smoke the street stuff and feel glued to the couch but not when you smoke Afghani, probably myc
