I’ve been thinking about going back to university and doing some psychology or anything that would allow me to work with individuals in a way to help them mentally and as a whole.
What country do you live in ? And if you don’t mind. what type of training did you do to get to your position ?
My dad was a psychiatrist and did work as psychologist as well as he enjoys that type of work. Retired now .
I worked as a Mechanical Engineer for the past 20+ years, before that worked Oilfield work.
Now, I’m a self-employed, Cannabis Tester. The pay sucks but the benefits are FIRE!
Might I say, I LOVE MY JOB!!!
Hey!
Thanks so much for the response!
I do really enjoy my work, I think it is due to the long term relationships with people I provide support to, because it is so fulfilling to see like visible progress and how much progress a person can make by just having someone to vent to or to work through their issues.
In terms of schooling, I have a degree in Sociology from a university, and was lucky enough to find employment with the same university where they have paid for me to complete any courses I required for certification.
It is really fulfilling work, but the thing that was the most helpful was having an employer that was willing to foot the bill for the necessary training.
Shoot me a dm if you have any other questions, I can go into some specifics if you would like.
Wow you sound like me lol, started of in automotive restoration, went into welding, then carpentry, to computer sales and service, and back as a general contractor.
Who’s paying $500 for a rabbit? I’ll start a rabbit farm tomorrow!
Just make sure you read up on proper moisture barriers if you ever do. Those metal walls can sweat pretty good and most people don’t realize it when building them out.
My wife and I actually purchased a container last year for this purpose. Now that all this BS is coming to an end we can finally start scouting locations/land . She’s had a dream of building a small, self sustaining home forever , and it can be used as a cottage/getaway in the meantime. I have a few acres by Magnetawan Ont, but the land just isn’t suitable for a tiny home and especially anything trying to utilize solar power for anything sooo. Hopefully by 2023 I can get this project underway if all goes well . @Slick1 not many know about insulation/breathability issues with these. I’m impressed.I worked for an insulation company (foam technician) for years when I was younger and iso foam is by far the best property for these because of breathability and such a high R factor.
I did international business for a long time in the wine and high end food and beverage industry, now apparently I’m an artist and furniture maker… It’s still weird calling myself that, but I guess since people are paying me and I have some stuff in museum exhibits it’s ok
I punch buttons on a compu-tater. The corp pays me to sit at home in my undies and wait for my seed deliveries to arrive while I wish I could just smoke reefer all day. As it stands I can only smoke the reefer on breaks and lunches. Whatcha gonna do?
Needs to be completely clear cut, basically all hill side and no running water nearby but a spring a few miles away. Also zero access in the winter months unless you park your vehicle about 25 mins away, jump on snowmobiles and trek in. We’ve looked into it and the preparation would be absolutely ridiculous cost wise and with the high levels of erosion and such it’s crazy, looks completely different EVERYTIME I go back. One day when I’m more wealthy something will be built there as it’s absolute paradise imo but not on my current budget. We’ve cleared a big portion in the centre and used the wood over the years for fires and built a cool gazebo. But man is it a pita to do anything when you are cut off from the basic amenities.
